Agreed. Distinct 9 was obviously set up for a sequel in the event that it performed at the box office. And what a tantalising prospect that now is. There could be a full on invasion/war type scenario but at the beating heart of the whole thing is a normal guy awaiting the means to return to the woman he loves. Its wide open at the climax of D9, so for me it would be an odd/underwhelming move to a) abandon that character or, b) revert back to an earlier point where we already know what happens to him. The Christopher Johnson story needs to be played out, to whatever end. It’d be a bit like Lucas making Phantom Menace directly after the cliff-hanger revelations/ending of Empire Strikes Back. If the series is to continue then I demand a resolution goddamit!
