Here's a good one I have on video and keep meaning to get on DVD.

A low budget and really fun tongue-in-cheek Conan-style movie with loads of blood and one of the funniest weapons I've ever seen in a film- a three bladed sword that fires two of it's blades like they're arrows.

Now we're talking!! Bill and myself confessed our love for this gem over on the weird thread some time ago. Gory, camp and unintentionally hilarious, this is perfect companion for the six pack. The story is all over the place, with badly cut scenes and off kilter pace, but the final brawl where the hero manages to pull huge spikes out of his hands after being crucified is cracking stuff. My only qualm is the Richard Moll, fantastic as the monstrous Xusia, disappears for most of the movie.

"Don't worry little girl, it won't hurt until it gets through to the bone". This unfortunate sadistic torturer soon gets his face carved off.

Hell, even Conan couldn't manage that in his crucificion scene.

How the fuck you expect me to lift this motherf*cker dad?

SNAP!!!I love this gem of a movie, and still have it on ye old VHS,but the machine died a death years ago,and i keep reminding myself to get this one.I saw this in the cinema when it was released back in 1982,and it was a full on 18 cert, blood sex and violence. The Sword and the Sorcerer is actually a far better Conan movie than either of the official Conan movies. It's exciting, it's fun,and it's some of the most unashamedly genuine Sword & Sorcery ever put to screen, straight from the pulp magazines of the '30s to the big screen of the '80s.

I love the first Conan movie and quite like the second, but I agree with you, I've always felt that this movie is far closer to the style and spirit of Robert E Howard and Lee Horsley's hero far closer to Howard's Conan then Arnie.

The first Conan movie is brilliant too. In Arnie's defence he does chomp a vulture and punch a camel out cold. I think his romp with the witch is my favourite scene in the flick. This was the first video that my family ever watched on our top decker VHS player in the early 80's. Naturally as a young lad I was bragging to my pals about the quantity of gore and tit on display.

AAAAAGHHH!!!CROMMMMMMM!!!!!
Arnie bites Orville.

WHICH BARBARIAN HAS THE BETTER LOOKING WOMAN?

Jane (out of Rod, Jane and Freddy) or sultry, Kathleen Beller. No contest, unless you happen to be Bungle.

Bungle failed in his audition for Genital Ben, because he didn't have any.

He he he, I must be Bungle then lol, as I much prefer Sandahl.

Actually, I think the title of hottest woman in an 80s sword and sorcery beer movie [I'm sure you'll  know this one too] must go to this lovely

Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974)
Not related apart from the babe connection (the lovely Caroline Munro), but this beer movie was  on Channel 5 on Sunday and yes, I did have a couple of Miller's while watching it. However I didn't know they had baby oil in the days of sinbad? I rate this as my favourite of the sinbad movies and remember seeing this and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1978) d/bill in Isle of Man cinema when I was knee high in 1981. Great memories.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974)        BEER MOVIE GOLD
This is one of those movies that I have to watch at least once every year.. Director, Michael Cimino teams up two greats (Eastwood and Bridges) in a fast moving heist movie with a surprisingly downbeat ending. This has so many great scenes, especially the one with the bloke (who looks suspiciously like the redneck nutter that buggered poor Ned Beatty in Deliverance) that keeps his car boot is crammed with white rabbits. He then proceeds to blast them with a shotgun. George Kennedy is in impressive form as the bad tempered and psychotic Red, who forms part of Eastwood's robbery team. However the movie is stolen by Bridges as the young, likable thief, Lightfoot. 8/10

Ah yes, Harryhausen!   Not his best [that's probably Jason And The Argonauts imo] but I think the film of his that most fits the bill is this classic

The Rock People vs. the Shell People vs. lots of dinosaurs, while usually fighting over Raquel Welch.

God, I haven't seen this for ages. I think this was the first movie I seen Melanie Griffiths in.
Also plan to watch this one again. BEER MOVIE GOLD

A fantastic offbeat 70's thriller with yes, another downbeat ending. A rip-roaring ride with pint sized policeman, Robert Blake taking on crime on a incredibly dangerous stretch of freeway.

Oh no!! Not Pernot. I bet you were tasting that for weeks to come. I remember drinking a bottle of gin one night and then spending months burping the taste of that repugnant shit. Never again.

Ah, the more alcohol to counteract the taste of lesser alcohol plan! I think this was first implemented in the late 60's by Richard Burton during the filming of another fantastic beer movie, Where Eagles Dare. Apparently production was held up on this one due to Burton disappearing in Europe with Peter O Toole for a massive pissup (no kidding!). Another Brucie bonus is that it has Hammer favourite, Ingrid Pitt in it. A father/son classic.

Pitt " Are ze jugs to you satisfaction boyz?"
Clint " Yeh, and the beer isn't bad too"
Burton " Mine is filled with vodka and Pernot"
