Just ordered Batman: Under the Red Hood, really looking forward to it I think so far out of these original movies Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths has been my favourite of what I've seen.

You're in for a treat, sir. Under the Red Hood is quite frankly, bloody brillaint! I also love Crisis on Two Earths but I still can't bring myself to see it as anything other than what it was originally planned to be, a bridge between the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series'. There's just too many referneces to the awesome DCAU. I wish they would return to it again... That said, has anyone seen anything of the upcoming Green Lantern Animated Series? It's Cg but the design of the characters is definitley reminiscent of Batman : TAS....

I agree that CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS was clearly better fitted as a couple of episodes of Bruce Timm's JUSTICE LEAGUE series. It still works though. Still no news on the GREEN LANTERN Animated Series other than the initial promo image; I'll keep you posted.

Oh I love Crisis on Two Earths! I just don't see why they didn't have it as the bridging film it was written as. Besides switching John Stewart for Hal Jordan it's pure DCAU Justice League.

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT!!!

- It starts with them rebuilding Watchtower after the events of Starcrossed.
- Flash is clearly Wally West, he's the exact same character from the series!
- There's references to the attraction between Wonder Woman and Batman.
- It explains where Wonder's invisible plane in JLU comes from.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of any right now...

Have to agree with both you guys, aside from a different Green Lantern and John Jonzz (sp?) staying in the alt-verse it really feels like a bride between JL and JLU.

Seems the recently departed Dwayne McDuffie still has a final Justice League project in the works, to come out in 2012.

Would be so amazing if done right. I would hope it sticks closer to the look of the comic than the animated series though.

Also, wasn't there an episode of the old series that animated the fight with the Mutant leader? or did I imagine that

That's the one. Ironside does need to come back though, I vaguely recall watching that scene as a kid and thinking that Batman had the coolest voice ever.

I love that they did the rubber bullets joke in the cartoon.

Haven't seen EMERALD KNIGHTS yet, no. But it's on my shopping list (I'm VERY choosy about what blu-rays /dvds I buy these days - saving money) and I'm pretty certain it'll be better than the live-action shambles.

I started watching some of these over the weekend

Superman the last son of krypton was fairly enjoyable
Batman Gotham Knight was ok
Batman Under the Red Hood was bloody awesome

I've still got a few to watch, including Green Lantern First Flight, 5 quid in Tesco

All-Star Superman - Actually, she told me it wasn't all that so I avoided it. Wasn't too impressed by the trailer in any case.

Gotham Knight just bored me.

Under the Red Hood is indeed AWESOME. So is First Flight.

It is very episodic in that it is a selection of stories relating to various character tied together by a rather dodgy central story. The Kilowog story is quite decent (although I am certain I have seen it before somewhere) and the first lantern story is also quite good but the rest is rather bland.

With regards to All Star Superman, if you like the comic then you will love this. Personally I found it to be one of the best animated Superman films out there.

I think Superman: Last Son of Krypton is just the first 3 episodes of Superman: The Animated Series thrown together.

Cannot wait for this! One of my favourite books. Love those images - Bruce on his knees in the snow looks just as it should.

Think I read a quotation from Bruce Timm regarding transforming the comic into animation, and he said it's so well laid out and illustrated that there's really nothing that needs changing.

Cheers for the link, Snake

That looks superb - just like I knew it would. Really impressed with how slick the animation is. And that glimpse of injured Bruce in the study at dawn with the bat silhouetted against the sunlight is spot-on ... his destiny beckons.

Can't wait.

Actually, anyone know what certificate this is going to have? Just curious as to whether Selina Kyle will still be a prostitute, and will we see Bruce get a knife in his leg?

Guess it's no big deal if they leave Selina's job a little in the dark ...

Eliza Dushku is voicing Selina Kyle in both the YEAR ONE feature and the 'Catwoman' short. Looking forward to this one. I still haven't seen EMERALD KNIGHTS, reviews on that one were so-so.
