Regarding Gilliam's version of "Watchmen", didn't he want to cast Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dr. Manhattan and Mickey Rourke as Rorschach? Rourke? Yes, in 1988 I could see that, but Arnie? Er... no. I fear that Gilliam's version might have been awful. Alternatively, Greengrass' version of "Watchmen", which would have been made with practically the same script as Zach Snyder's version, was a very interesting prospect. Greengrass' (rumoured) casting included Ron Perlman as the Comedian, Paddy Considine as Rorschach, Joaquin Phoenix as Nite Owl, Hilary Swank as Silk Spectre and Jude Law as Ozymandias. I think that Greengrass' version might have been a little masterpiece. Sadly we will never know. Howver, for all it's faults, I did like Zach Snyder's "Watchmen".
