Good start to season, Jeffrey Wright is a great addition to the ensemble...as is the arrival of Mr. Hoover.

I'll be interested to see how much Chicago features in the new series - there was a hell of a lot of shit went down for Capone, Torrio, O'Bannion etc in 1924/25.

I'll be interested in every single thing Jeffrey Wright does. The man is killing it in is this part. So suave. If they just have him sitting in a corner eying everyone while sipping tea, it'll still make for some thrilling tv.

This is shaping up to be a great season. Not that Boardwalk Empire is ever bad, just saying.

An elegant bible quoting (seemingly) literate man called Narcisse who says he's a doctor of some sort (he may very well be) and who during the few scenes he was in really manged to piss of Chalky.

Cool - anything that puts Chalky in a bad mood is good news for the show.

Michael K Williams does some great pissed off acting. I read somewhere that the character always seems to have a chip on his shoulder and it was meant as a negative, but I think it makes a lot of sense for the character and when you got a guy who's so great at exactly that, why not utilize it. I think sparks are going to fly between these two characters and I can't wait.

No one been watching this? The 1st few have been excellent. Mainly in my opinion because they've not had Nucky's wife or the Van Alden story lines dragging back the pace. Harrow is still a legend!

In episode 4, both Eddie & Thompson Jnr seemed to be participating in a 'who can do the most obviously stupid thing' competition

Surely someone else is watching this?

Been on great form this season. Some bad ass moves by Chalky and hope him and Harrow team up to bring out some serious whoop ass! Loved Nucky standing up to Dr Narciss as well.

Haven't seen any of it yet but my brother's Sky plussed all the episodes so far so gonna pop round and watch the whole lot some time this week. I'm particularly looking forward to the Chicago storyline this season.

A fantastic if utterly heartbreaking ending. Forget Brian Griffin, this was the death that really tugged at the heartstrings this weekend.

That was a pretty depressing ending, kinda like Empire Strikes Back.

Finally caught up with the last 3 episodes of this last night. It's been a fantastic season, IMO this show has gone from strength to strength anyway, but fuck me what a grim way to end.

Looking forward to season 5 already. Hopefully it'll concentrate on the wrath of Chalky. I don't know if Dr Narcisse is going to feature again but I would love to see him left alone in a room with Chalky White.

Boardwalk Empire - Season 4
Steve Buscemi and co. are back in the fourth season of Boardwalk Empire.
Overall I thought this was better than the third season but halfway through there are some (moments in some) episodes where I felt that it could have a bit more speed and tension to keep things going.
The storylines were better and more interesting than in the previous season, especially those of Narcisse (a brilliant part by Jeffrey Wright) and Gillian Darmody. Loved the way how in the end all of the stories were tied up together.
Clearly the show has found its way up after season 3 and with a season finale like this I can`t wait for season 5!

9,0/10

The continuing rise of Al Capone.

Really good season. Far more satisfying than the uneven third & Wright was a terrific adversary from start to finish.

Harrow's exit haunted me all of last week, beautifully done...but I was gutted.

Given his discussion with Hoover, I'd be shocked if he didn't reappear.

I suppose it's to be expected really given how things turned out last season, although I had hoped the ending of the volstead act would have been the conclusion. Can't see us leaping ahead of time that quickly.

Bad news in my book. I think they could have got seven seasons out of it. Four seasons in and only one minor dip in quality at Season three. I know it's better to see a show go out on top rather than overstating it's welcome but I just feel they could have got another three seasons of quality.

So BB finished last year, Sons of Anarchy, Boardwalk and Justified this year. Thank heavens for Game of Thrones!

Well we're back....and quite a few years have passed it seems.

A bit of a pity we didn't get to see Rothstein's demise or things like the Valentines Day massacre. It's obviously gone to some lengths in the first 3 episodes to reaffirm that above all, this is the Nucky Thompson story.
