As I said in the other thread; very solid game. At first I was disappointed with the fairly easy puzzles, but the game really started to pick up when it introduced the different gels and the tractor beam thing. Most important lesson I leanrt? Pay attention to your surroundings I thought the humour was very good and it only got better with the introduction of Cave Johnson and Glados' temporary demise- although one of the best bits was running the first couple of ''tests'' that Wheatley sets you. Also, the music was pretty damn cool. The puzzle mechanics were quite innovative as well, but for me I think Catherine pips this game as the puzzle game of 2011- primarily due to the fact that there is always more than one way to complete a level and also because of the increased amount of variables. For example in Portal 2 there is like what, three gels and two energy type beams, plus the lasers and the turrets, and the portals themselves I guess). Whereas in Catherine you have loads of different types of blocks (normal, cracked, heavy, immovable, ice, bomb, trap, mystery, monster, bouncy), techniques (you learn about 3 a level and there are I think about 9 levels), plus you also have the items for the noobs So I think Catherine was more challenging than Portal 2 Haven't touched the co-op yet, got to try and remember my Steam password , so I'm interested to see what kind of spin they put on that. Trophies look easy as well. Anyone else the the Platinum or 1000G?
