Co-op campaign was great, the way in which you worked through the puzzles to their conclusion. Awesome.

Some interesting theories on the story here - http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1850363

I have to be honest I didn't pick up on most of that, I really like the ideas though.

Cracking game, easily the most enjoyable I've played in a long while. A little disappointed that I flew through it so quick, not that it's a short game, just that it's all over because I played it nearly non-stop at the weekend.

I'd say the single player took me maybe 8 or 9 hours and the co-op around about 4. It might be other way around depending on which order you play the game as you get a feel for how it works and apply your knowledge from one mode to the other.

One bit of essential advice I feel is do not play the co-op for the first time with someone who has already completed it. It provided some of the best laughs I've ever had in a game the two of us trying to figure it all out. It's just brilliant.

Single player is brilliant as well obviously, the script is fantastic, funnier than most comedy films that get a cinema release nowadays and the delivery from Stephen Merchant and JK Simmons is spot on.

I assume there will be some co-op DLC, can't wait for it.

I'd just like to echo other opinions on here...

This game is funny, well written, ingenious, disingenuous & thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Gutted it's over already but that's because it was impossible to put down.

One of the best, if not THE best, games ever. (Borstal... You may need to redo your table son!)

The only criticism is that Valve may have raised the bar too high.

Do NOT miss out on this any longer!

Just finished the single player. It's the first video game ending for years to make me laugh and go "Aww" at the same time. Probably the best game I've played since the first Portal game actually which, as brilliant as it was, has been surpassed!

Loved it! Just sad that's it's now over... until my mate gets his PS3 working again and we can Co-Op

Unless you're mate is the head of PSN, I doubt that'll be your only hurdle

No ways! I stated loud and clear that the games you could vote for where up to a certain date. Although I think some people ignored that.

Just read the PS3 thread, I had no idea how widespread or how serious the problem was, I assumed it was just a problem with his internet connection

I don't know if I can wait that long for him to catch up now

Anyone got any hopes for DLC or a sequel of some sort? I'd be interested to see if the guys at Valve could come up with a sequel, they're script writers are normally rather useful with that sort of thing. However I can see plenty of scope for DLC based on Atlas and p-body in co-op seeing as absolutely no story would be required.

I would be surprised to see Chell/GlaDOS and/or the Portal gun making a cameo appearance in Half Life 2 Episode 3 when it finally gets released, I mean the story was hinting towards you trying to get hold of the Portal gun.

I interviewed Valve not so long ago and I'd be very surprised if there wasn't a sequel in the works - DLC as well. Although, once the PSN is back-up and the mod community do their thing, we'll see plenty of new challenges being made by the fans.

Wouldnt incorporating the portal gun into Half Life be the true definition of a wet dream?! If it arrives this century of course.

I'd like to believe that the lengthy development time suggests that either it will be or that it will be a fully fledged sequel rather than just an episodic add on.

I don't expect a sequel to portal any time soon. I can't imagine how long it takes to develop each level with the different possibilities involved. Think Mp DLC is far more likely.

He's right though, it could quite possibly be the best game ever (excluding Ocarina of Time of course). You really need to buy it.

DLC Confirmed!!!

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-04-28-portal-2-dlc-out-this-summer

More info expected in a couple of weeks.

A Single Player mode following Rat Man could be cool, and of course co-op DLC.

So more DLC news.

It's going to see the return of challenge mode and leaderboards from the first game. We're going to get new levels for both single player and co-op.

And the best part: It's going to be free!

I've just finished the single player, and this is far and away the best game I've played all year. It's a huge step up from the first game, with a more involving story and much more variety in the environments and puzzles. It also made me laugh from start to finish, which is incredibly rare in a video game. Whoever came up with the idea of casting Stephen Merchant and J. K. Simmons deserves a medal.

Now all I've got to do is wait for PSN to come back up so I can play the co-op. Hopefully it'll be just as good as the single player was.

Finished it last night. Improves on the original in pretty much every way, and the original was one of my favourite games of all time. Honestly can't see anything topping it this year. Also:

Just started playing this yesterday and I concur, it's brilliant. Only a few levels in and some of GLaDOS' barbs are hilarious.

Finally finished single player of this this morning and loved every minute of it.

I don't really have anyone to play co-op with - anyone need a buddy? I would like to 1000 this and I've got all but 1 single player achievement.

Got it yesterday. Completed it today. Normally I'd be pissed at a game that quick, but it was a joy all the way through. I need someone to do Co-op, so feel free to add me. Gamertag; Croverfield.

Finished this yesterday and really enjoyed it. Wouldn't go so far as to say game of the year or anything and I'm not 100% that it's worth the full RRP.

Some real head scratchers during it. I think there was one near the end with 3 sentries to your right behind a board, a blue tunnel above a pit and blue gel dripping on the other side of the pit. Had me stumped for a while, glad I persevered though and never reached for a walkthrough.

Stephen Merchant was hilarious.

Story telling? Fantastic. Gameplay? Superb. Script Hilarious. Voice acting and casting? Inspired. Visuals? Stunning. Co-op? Innovative. Production values? Second to none. Superlatives? Exhausted.

If that's not game of the year then what is? Game of the century for me, not enjoyed a game this much since Ocarina of Time. Going through single player again at the moment and I'm enjoying it immensely. It's like Valve took everything that made the first so good, threw it in a blender, added a few drops of Charlie Sheen's blood and the option for a second player and voila... Epic Winning.

Each to their own though I guess.
