I get Empire as a subscription Christmas gift every year, so I don't worry about the cost.

I actually like threads that say "screw you", so I'm going to be the first to say there aren't enough of them.

You honestly can't scrape together 4 quid a month for something you enjoy? Seriously? I am in no way well off and I could probably find enough change lying around my house to go out and buy the magazine right now. You're either truly, incredibly poor in which case I feel sorry for you, or you're an enormous tight arse, in which case the same applies.

I completely agree with the OP about the pricing far too dear for what you get in return.

I'm a bit bemused by the comments saying stop complaining and why are you posting this here no-one cares, why should he not post his views on a public forum which is what you all do everytime you post?

Not just that, it's the bloody feedback section for the magazine, an area designated for both positive and negative opinions on the state of the magazine. If people didn't give bad feedback things wouldn't change for the better. All those complaining about the porn adverts certainly had an effect, so maybe if enough people started voting with their wallets and voicing that opinion here the price will drop, it's unlikely but no harm in doing so, it's not like you'd miss out through not buying either all the content is on this site anyway!

I have to agree it is quite alot for a magazine. I know things can't always stay the same price but over �4 is expensive. I've subscribed for years so I never notice the increases but I really should keep a better eye on them. Also would it kill ya to chuck us long time subscribers a free DVD or something every now and again. You get loads of goodies for being a new subscriber but nowt for being a long time buyer

I think most magazines are around 4 quid nowadays? So I dont see much being done about the price, but it would be nice to see some kind of free gift every now and then.

Well, all magazines are a rip-off now, and have been for the last 5yrs or so. Inflation or no inflation. Empire is no exception.

For what their worth the price is bulls**t and well all know it. But we live in a consumerist, capitalist, money-obsessed rip-off society (esp in this country) and you just have to lump it!

Doesn't mean you have to purchase these magazines though - and when such people as Empire have a very in-depth website covering the majority of what you would get or want from the magazine for free (an shooting themselves in the foot while doing it) who's gonna buy one!?

I just use my nut and buy the occasional issue, with something special or different in it and stick to the site inbetween. Besides, its the modern age, paper isn't gonna be around that much longer ;)

lmao just found this thread again, thank you all who supported me, amazed at how many people did not like my post lol, shows how the solidarity of this country has changed, years ago people would not have moaned and slated me but would have stuck by me in a unified force and defied the system (government and inflation) there would have been a solidarity against the big man, people would have rebelled against such a price increase and people power would have driven the price back down not accepted it (oh its the same price as a pint why are you moaning lol) or (if you cant scrape that price you must be a tightarse), maybe i am in this climate, but if people do not turn round and say enough is enough the price will rise and rise just like petrol, how long until enough is enough?

Maybe if they brought the adverts back they'd be able to drop the cover price
