 I'm a big fan of the Mission Impossible franchise (with the possible exception of 2). I think this is going to be the best of the bunch. This trailer had everything I love about spy movies, so bring it on. As for Cruise, his religious beleifs aside, he's actually a brilliant actor and from what I've seen of him in interviews (even the notorious Oprah one) he seems like a bloody nice blooke to boot.

Totally agree, Snake.


Cruse may well be a bit of a tit but so are pretty much all actors and celebrities. His only mistake is that he does not lock it down as much as most but that does not make him a bad guy. So he believes in what some would consider a weird religion... but to many, most religions are fundamentally rather weird anyway.

He’s just a little intense and odd as far as I’m concerned but so what. He’s not doing any harm to anyone. And when it comes to roles where he has that fevered/ frantic caged animal thing going (like the MI films) he’s great at it. That intensity works great in these films as far as I’m concerned.

He’s just an easy target and figure of fun to a lot of people. Hell, I’ve laughed at some of his quotes and actions. But would I be put off seeing a film because he’s in it... no. I was totally against the initial rumblings to have him greatly sidelined, or even removed from this instalment. MI: II aside, this is one of the best action franchises out there for me... and he is a big part of that. It simply wouldn’t be the same without him.

Oh and finally watched the trailer with sound (unlike first office viewing) and in HD... YES!

Not so much what it's up against but have you ever heard of a decent blockbuster being released on Boxing Day? I just think it'll make the opening weekend figures look poor by comparison to other films, when it should be pretty solid!

Seems like an odd choice when a late November release would be possible...

Big push on IMAX for this one. So I wonder if the availability of IMAX slots has forced it’s release. Not sure what will be taking up the screens though, Happy Feet 2 maybe?

 Although I will watch the new MI movie and probably enjoy it..

At the back of my mind for the entire movie I will be thinking Tom Cruise likes fish sticks he is a gay fish.

Which will tarnish my view of the film.

 It was just a nicer way of saying that he is a closet scientologist gay, not homophobic, but his crazy antics outside of the movies have effected they way I now view his movies...

As I said I will watch mission impossible 4 I will enjoy it...

But at the back of my mind through the entire movie that little man who lives at the back of my head will be saying.... "look at the crazy man on the screen pretending to be an actor and really he is just a fu*king whack job, if he wasn't a movie star or he lived in any other part of the world he would be sectioned under the mental health act, long ago!!"

But I just made it a short point rather than all this jazz...

Going to the BFI on Jan 5th as out of London over Xmas and New Year. Be a nice little treat on an otherwise dreary January night. 30+ mins of IMAX footage in this one! Nice!

Looking forward to the Bane high jacking footage on a 70ft screen too

It seems mostly quite positive, from what I read. Seemed to be straying into spoiler territory so I knocked it on the head. He does say it’s the strongest entry since the first one... and seeing as MI:III was rather excellent, that is very encouraging from my point of view!

As I bailed out early on, did this person view it in IMAX do we know?

Weird! Rotten Tomatoes has classed his as the only negative review so far . What I read seemed to be quite positive... Said it was better than 3... which was fantastic for me.

 Judging from Twitter, Empire's own Helen O'Hara seems to have really loved it whereas Chris Hewitt was more lukewarm (still said it was good, rated it joint second in the franchise with MI:3)... who will do the review?

Saw it at the IMAX yesterday, thought it was very good. Just as good as third one. And there were loads of full IMAX sections too that worked really well. Def worth a watch. thumbs up.
