MI:3 is one of the best action films of recent years for me.

Berlin siege
Helicopter chase
Vatican break in
THE BRIDGE!!!
Skyscraper jump

All fantastically executed set pieces! With the bridge assault being really rather exceptional! That scene does a complete number on the pulse every time I watch it. Drones, missiles, flipping cars and badass black ops Germans!!!  What's not to love.

New one looks pretty damn terrific from that trailer too! Poor choice of music though. Hopefully something more cinematic for the theatrical… although they've already shown quite a bit in the 'teaser'.

i was left very underwhelmed with the action in MI:3. I don't think JJ Abrams is a very good action director. The bridge sequence left me most disappointed of all, as i had heard great things

Really DK? The bridge scene for me is a standout action sequence. One of the best in recent years for me.

Agreed.MI:3 is one of the best action movies of the noughties, great pace, great storyline, fantastic stunts and action and a top cast. With this and Star Trek, he's proven to be one of the best action directors around(and his work on tv's Alias was great as well).

His involvement in MI:4 and that new trailer has me excited. Can't wait!

I also like that the Rabbit's Foot isn't given an explanation. It's literally just a plot device.

that's one of the things i hated about it. Pointless thing that doesnt have to mean anything so the writers dont even know what it is. I could easily make up loads of things with a mysterious name and tell the audience that it's really, really important, but never have to decide what it is. Lazy, lazy, lazy writing IMO.

I love the fact that they didn't reveal what the rabbits foot was.It wasn't necessary because what was important was Hunt rescuing his wife.Too many films get hung up on the actual mcguffin instead of getting down to the action.I also like that they didn't show Hunt stealing it as the first two movies already had those kind of heist scenes and it would have been repetitive.

Wonder will they mention Hunts wife in this? It's understandable that they didn't mention Thandie Newtons character in M.I3 but Hunt was RETIRING from the IMF to settle down with his new missus.Their not just going to ignore that are they?

Yeah, it's superb. I thought James Bond's Vic Armstrong directed the action bits on MI:3 anyway?

Yeah, didn't his son do the car flips on the bridge?

This was already one of my most anticipated this year but:

“It used to be that when a movie opened, if you wanted to see it early, you had to see it great. To me, the best example of showmanship now is IMAX. I pushed to shoot in IMAX, and Paramount went along with me, so we filmed a good chunk of this movie in IMAX, which is a pain in the butt.”

Native IMAX! Was this announced as I had no idea! I’m double in now

Anyone else think that Cruise REALLY needs this to hit the roof? I do. Not keen on the poster, looks like a Spiderman rip off. MI: 3 was pretty good. In fact, I really enjoyed it! But it does seem that Cruises star is on the wain...

Hmm.... Wow. That does actually look pretty decent. Back-to-basics action. Ingredients: Die Hard, a bit of John Woo 'stand-off', a bit of Live Free or Die Hard, Spielberg's War of the Worlds and er, Brian DePalma's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE (which, let's face it - is still the best of the series)... Tom running (always does the trick). Snake-Eyes could do without Mr. Pegg and Mr. Kapoor (can't stand that guy) and where is Mr. Rhames...? Still, I'll be checking it out. It'll be the first film at the cinema since that go-awful 'Troll Hunter'.

I'm intrigued how Michael Nyqvist will be as the film's villain. Big fan of him in the 'Millennium' films.

In Brad Bird, I trust.

Going off the end of the Empire news article I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Renner is the big bad guy! (Or the girl, actually it's always the woman isn't it?) Surprised the trailer didn't show Monaghan or Rhames. Both of them are in the film despite lack of trailer time.

Only read the brief reaction at the start as I’m not wanting to know too much. But sounds like these guys like it a lot. I can only imagine how great this will look in IMAX... from that picture alone, take a vomit bag. The placid ariel shots in TDK made me feel sick... so this could be a real hurler!

I reckon Josh Holloway is the traitor (if there is even a traitor). He always looks shifty. I'm watching you, Sawyer!

Yeah, he looks like a dodgy bastard in the trailers. Im curious if there will be any references to the rest of the established MI force- Lawrence Fishbourne? Also, I why is Hunt back in IMF, i thought the end of the last one he retired?

Really looking forward to this though.

Hollywood: Stop casting Simon Pegg in things. Stop it. Or at least give him a different persona.

No, just went on his honeymoon.

Turned off the new trailer after 15 seconds. The teaser's enough for me, thanks.

You're implying Tom Cruise is a cunt? If so, why?

Oh, that's right – he jumped on a sofa one time to entertain an audience.

Edit - swearing is allowed, but remember the 'excessive' part.

Hm. Looks fun enough, hopefully it will actually be good this time instead of just average. Not a fan of the first two at all. Brad Bird though, should be worth a look.

Cruise isn't a cunt, he's a scientologist. There's a very small difference and when I find out what that is I'll let you know.

Jokes aside - I don't understand the hate for Tom Cruise. He's a good actor who has made some good, entertaining films. I don't care about his personal beliefs / religious views, I just like watching his films.

This ^. No one can fault the mans commitments as an actor. An all around great. You only have to check out the footage of him doing the building stunt from this flick to see how commited he is.
