Pulp Fiction - 5 Jackie Brown - 5 Reservoir Dogs - 4 Kill Bill Vol.1 - 3 Kill Bill Vol.2 - 2 Death Proof - 2 Inglourious Basterds - 2 All in all, Tarantino has spent the last decade ploughing the same tired furrow and producing lacklustre efforts that frustrate and bewilder anybody who remembers the bravado of his early work. He's the Oasis of cinema. A director once bristling with invention and style who now churns out two hours worth of incoherent, self-parodying, ego-driven smeg every couple of years. quote:
Jackie Brown's my least favourite, I think because it's the least Tarantino-esque. As I said elsewhere, Jackie Brown is Tarantino's tightest, most fluid effort to date. A perfect balance of his exploitation/ trash-novel sensibilities, quality scriptwriting and controlled direction.
