ORIGINAL: Flatulent_Bob Do the players really think they played well? How much can be explained away with "its a new team?". I think there is a degree of an excuse of a work in progress but surely keeping the ball shouldn't be as hard as we are making it. 2nd half we were better, thanks to them having to push on and it creating space, but it really is a worry. Ah fuck it, I'm off to play FIFA where England can retain the ball for more than 2 passes. England have been shite, and really not much better than 2010. The only difference seems to be we are getting better results somehow and we came back against Sweden. There does seem a better spirit amongst the team and we are far more disciplined. I doubt we'd see us going gung-ho against a team like we did when 2-1 down to Germany. But we desperately need to keep the ball more. It's not only knackering chasing the ball, but better attacks than Sweden's and Ukraine's will properly punish us. Welbeck, Young, Parker and Milner were all crap again. Rooney was rusty but fair enough and I thought Cole wasn't hs usual standard. I really don't know how the extra official didn't see that was over the line, although that doesn't matter really as he was offside in the build up anyway. Looking forward to the Italy game and now anything we get is a bonus. I'm more worried about Italy's strikers than I was Benzema. Benzema was on his own up top but Italy can use Balotelli's muscle (if he's having a good day) with the intelligence of Di Natale or Cassano. All the while our back 4 and Gerrard and Parker will sit back and watch Pirlo, who is a better orchestrator than any of the France midfield, move the ball about and build attack after attack.
