ORIGINAL: Rebenectomy No sponsorship or personal request here, but in light of recent events, just thought I'd put a bit of focus on Shelter Box, the disaster relief charity currently at work in Japan and other disaster areas around the world. quote:
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. Our goal is to help 500,000 people every year. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children's activity pack and other vital items. In addition to Japan the charity works on many disasters that simply don't get wide spread media coverage. You can donate at http://www.shelterbox.org/donate.php I'm sure a lot of people have their own personal charity that they support at times of crisis, and I know it's awful actually having to choose when they're all so worthy, but this is the organisation that I'll be donating to and I'd like to give it a shout out. Thanks for the link Reb, I have donated to both the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Relief and to Shelterbox. I hope my donations make even the slightest bit of difference to those in need, whether it's in Japan or elsewhere in the world. (I noticed Shelterbox is currently working hard in a number of South American countries hit by floods etc).
