1 of the best super hero films ever u say? Well I must have missed that memo cuz wat I seen was a film that dident know how to start or finish, it looked great but smelt terrible.
I think synger sold his soul for the usual suspects cuz everything since has been terrible, u might say everyhing he does is usually suspect, but anyway back to the point at hand, raimi dident get screwed he screwed us 3 times and dident even leave us anything to get ourselves something nice with. Ask del toro if he fancies it. But for me jj abrams would be magic for it he's funny and smart like ok spidey himself.

I take it grammer, punctuation and spelling are a bit of an ask are they, christ, you don't text your replies in this forum you know, bloody modern teenagers

What the hell is a waltbox?

There's no need to get defensive. I'm sure you can appreciate that it can be incredibly frustrating trying to understand what is being said in a badly-written post. While most on this forum aren't grammar nazis or anything and typo's are inevitable, it is always nice to show some respect to the other forumites by taking the time to make your post as legible as possible.

Yeah, especially when Jim R spelt 'grammar' wrong

I think we need to get a petition or something going...the 1st 2 movies were highly enjoyable, lets just leave it be....Sam Raimi did a great job and I think it tarnishes his movies by re-booting them already! Or get him and Tobey Maguire back on......Somebody should be concentrating on making sure the Captain America movie doesn't suck instead...

Come on, this is just farcicial.  He tarnished his own movies!

I can't believe how blind some people are.

er...no he didn't, he had a clear plan of intention for three and the studio ran over his input, ideas and authority and took number three away from him.

In retrospect, watch Sam's maintained input (Sandman, Goblin conclusion) against shoe horned plot driven by studio (Venom) and compare, whilst I agree the reveal with the Butler was badly handled, on the whole three works, it's just unfortunate to come up and be compared with 1 & 2

His "clear plan of intention" led him into nonsense.

The only problem with 3 the studio had any sort of input on was Venom.  His inclusion and depiction are one of the worst things about the third film.

However the bit with Harry's butler wasn't just badly handled, it undermined the whole of his character arc.  His whole journey hinged on Jeeves or whatever his name was, not telling him his father killed himself.  Where was Rami's clear intention then?

Answer: He DIDN'T HAVE ONE.  He stated many times before the third film was scripted he was unsure where to take Harry's character.  And he stumbled big time.

Spider-Man 3 was a train wreck of a film and we've now been saved from more of Rami's eccentrities.  It's basic continuity logic that you don't set up a character for two films and give him no pay off, and that's what he was planning to do to Dylan Baker.

I listed the numerous problems with Rami on the other topic and a lot of them really came to the fore in 3, but it really started with 2.  Why does he keep taking off his mask?  Cause Sam Rami doesn't give movie audiences enough credit for suspension of disbelief.  Why doesn't Spidey crack wise like he should?  Cause Sam Rami, would rather he got mawkish and weepy.

The franchise needs a kick in the ass and to be as far away from Rami as possible.  Sense prevailed at last.

WTF? I don't understand any of this. They are nuts. They should have left it alone after the nonsense that was 3 and god bless ya Sam for doing such a sterling job on 1 and 2 but time to put it to be for a while before Spidy 4 becomes the new Superman 4.

It's "grammar" darling

Although I agree entirely with your post! I wonder how many flying dictionary and thesaurus books a modern teenager can take to the head?!

I think this kid; Logan Lerman is a good prospect for Peter Parker/Spider-Man:

At this stage I would much rather see Marc Webb's Spider-Man than Sam Raimi's. Marc Webb isn't a hack, for my money he made the joint-best film of 2009 with (500) Days of Summer, a film which shows that he can actually make a film that involves characterisation. As much as I like the previous Spidey-flicks, and that includes the third film, it'll be nice to see some new blood take a shot at this.

Indeed. It would be an interesting take at least - though I'm never likely to get particularly excited for a Spirderman film.

Also LOL at waltbox - where the hell is that from?

Regards all, I'm now off to dictionary corner to learn proper grammar and stuff, I blame the education, all  boys northern secondary school education during the 80's, terrible afflication

To be honest I`m against remaking a movie thats still relevent to today, I say if they wanna go with a different director then fine but keep Tobey do Spidy 4 and make a good movie thats worthy of the Mcfarlane post era.

Heres the facebook petition for peeps against the reboot

Sony have to get Zach Snyder, it's the only way forward. Heres why.
1. Has already proven his ability to take a great movie (Dawn of the dead) and reimagine it with gusto, arguably one of the best horror remakes of all time.
2. Understands the nature of comic books and treats his subject matter with 100% detail and respect
3. Brought the unfilmable to the screen with Watchmen (Don't listen to the haters, it's a work of genius and will get better with age)
4. He loves comics like Raimi (very important that an actual fan is in control)
5. as with gerard butler and Jackie earle haley he will find the right peeps to fill the characters shoes.

Please Sony, you've already screwed up by letting Raimi go, don't do it again.
