OK we're back! Things have changed slightly, an hour earlier and it's now a 4v4 Team Slayer.
Next game...

HotUKDeals vs Empire Online

Date: Tuesday 02nd November 2010
Time: 20:00 GMT (Match starts at 20:30GMT)
Type: Team Slayer 4v4

The Rules:

The team entering will need up to 5 players:

1 of which will be Team Captain, who will act as a point of contact for that week.

A minimum of 4 players are required for your team.

The first 4 players are playable and then 1 substitute, in case your team are short at the last minute.

The Team Captain must be named before the game begins. They will be required to get the game started between both teams.

I will contact the team prior to the game start, where I will ask for the name of the Team Captain. I will then pass this on to the opposition and vice versa, along with details on how to get the game started.

The Team Captain from each team will be required to submit the score of the match (#Map Wins and #Round Kills/Deaths) once the game has finished.

Scoring: 3 points awarded for a Match Win. 0 points awarded for a Match Loss.

Scoring: If both teams win 2 Maps each (resulting in a Match Draw) then the K:D Ratio of all 4 Maps will be added up to decide a Winner. If it is still a Draw at this point, each Team will be awarded a single point each.

Game Settings:
Everything should be set to default, unless stated below:

Host: To be decided between the Captains from both teams beforehand.
Gametime: Should be between 40-65 minutes (estimated - depending on loading/how good each team is).
Type: Team Slayer 4v4

Gametype: Slayer (Team)
Maps: #1 Powerhouse (default), #2 Zealot (default), #3 Countdown (default), #4 Reflection (default).
Score to Win: 50
Teams: Enabled
Time Limit: 15 Minutes

Primary Weapon: DMR
Secondary Weapon: None
Spartan Loadouts: Hidden
Elite Loadouts: Hidden
Player Speed: Unchanged
Jump Height: Unchanged
Player Gravity: Unchanged
Motion Tracker Mode: Off
Suicide Penalty: None
Betrayal Penalty: None
Team Changing: Not Allowed
Betrayal Booting: Disabled
Sudden Death: Disabled

I play it every now and again. I've found the multiplayer a treat. A lot of variety in the play modes keeps everything fresh and I honestly could get stuck just playing Halo Reach.

Biggest problem is I don't have the time either my mates or the same or they are on WoW, CoD etc etc.

I love the mix of the load out's. They are well balanced and it add's a different dynamic to the game. On the other hand I'm glad there are modes with limited load out's also if the map is suited to it.

Honestly not played this game enough. Every time I do I have a great time of it.

Put this on last night. Wasn't impressed to be honest. Maybe I'll try it on normal. And I was quite sleepy.

[I'm no FPS master but I've been able to complete previous installments without too much fuss on Legendary. This one I'm really struggling with. Absolutely love it so far, and it's great to have the Elites back as a truly challenging adversary./color]

I'm up to mission 8 now I think. Still not enjoying it as much as I did Halo 3. As soon as I've finished it it's getting traded. Struggling to enjoy it.

Any one had an issue with auto save on this? Just put it on again and there was o option to load my game. Chose start game, paused it and went to load last save and it started from the beginning

I put in a good 5-6 hour on this so far, only for it not to save anything. There isn't even a game save file on my hard drive.

This is getting traded. It was chore getting to where I was, let alone doing it again!

Hmmmm I've not had a problem. Can't you even choose the mission you were up to? You should be able to do that even if you can't continue from your last save.

Hmmmm I've not had a problem. Can't you even choose the mission you were up to? You should be able to do that even if you can't continue from your last save.

Would I be able to do that from the main menu? The only options I get are start campaign and multi-player.

Damn game. Playing through mission 5 on Legendary and finally got to the end of it, only for the next level to unlock albeit with no achievement. Look's like I'm going to have to go back through that level again.

What mission would people say is the toughest?

One section I was stuck on for ages was the one in the city after you have done all the jet packing etc. You get dropped off with some marines and have to fight some wraiths and turn on some anti aircraft missile defences. I swear those wraiths were clinical with their plasma cannons!

Took me ages and umpteen attempts to beat that one!

Legendary was a real challenge - Elites were tricky sods and rightfully so

Plasma Pistol & DMR/Magnum combo and Elites weren't that tough.
Needle Rifle, Needler at a push, for Brutes.

This little gem makes pretty much all the encounters trivial as long as you have ammo. Couldn't have got by without it. The 4 super elites at the very end were harder on heroic than legendary because i learnt that trick in between play throughs.

I started using this combo yesterday and it's amazing the effort it saves - just a shame you barely get any Plasma Pistol ammo!

And whichever fool at Bungie though a flying level would be a good idea, it isn't!

I'm looking forward to the re-release of CE, purely for the nostalgia of going through it again but with shiny graphics. Not sure about the MP. Looks like Reach with CE maps and I'm just not keen on the whole armour abilities thing.

Same goes for 4. The fact that the Chief had a jetpack in the trailer doesn't bode well for the MP.

Abilities are good Chief!

If you really don't like them there are loads of modes where you just have the addition of run (spartan) or roll (convant ... SP?) ...

I was worried but yeah I like em. Jet packs are easily dealt with ... hmm

I'm not really fussed for running and rolling either! My main issue with Reach is the maps though.

I'm still thinking of picking it back up for something to do until Battlefield comes out. I tried H3 but it was too poorly populated.
