They do have a non-stereotypical gay guy, the guy on the football team who bullied the hell out of Kurt last season (I forget his name) and then begged for forgiveness at the end of the season.

You mean the overly agressive jock who is actually a closeted gay? Nope, thats another sterotype. Anyway going a bit off topic now. Be back later with thoughts on S3.

That's the guy. I guess he is. It would be really good if this season involved him coming out. Though I don't know if he's even still in the show.

For me it's all about Quinn. She is my fave. She's not a bitch, just so honest. Everything she says makes sense. Love her. Can't wait to see where she goes this year. Sad though, seeing as I reckon if any of the cast goes she'll be the first to get the boot. I don't think she's that popular.

And of course SUE. What a fucking legend. Beyond hysterical.

Most of the cast will be leaving after this year (inc Quinn) which is what the Glee Project is all about.  I wonder if the show will survive then.

They shouldnt be restricted to the high school they should follow the characters as they try and make their way in the world.

They're not gonna do though, new characters are being brought in this season and next (no doubt with another project.)  Rachel, Kurt, Finn, Quinn, Puck etc... are definitely leaving after this year.  We'll still have Will, Sue and Emma plus Artie and the chinese girl (I've forgotten her name.)

If thats the case then they should try and end the show properly just bringing new cast members will just make the show tiresome, the novelty factor will start wearing thin.

It makes too much money at the moment.

They can do it two ways - follow the original cast and end up with a 'Saved by the Bell type situation' with the cast attending the same college  Or stay with the High School and a new glee club.  Option two makes more sense.  Will it work? We shall see.

Actually, no, seems he has had a change of heart. http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/09/15/glee-spoilers-ryan-murphy-unveils-premiere-episode/

So far the new cast memebers have guest spots and nothing more. The decsion on weather or not to follow the core cast or focus on the newer characters is being put on the back burner until he figures out what he wants to do. So it's still very much a possibility we will retain a lot of the original cast.

Pretty hard on the cast that they don't have a clue whether they have another season ahead.

True. I think this year will make or break the show. The danger is the cast gets fed up and jumps ship but I can't see any of them doing that. I do think the whole 'Glee' project will be reevaluated. Murphy stated fan reaction got nasty so I seriously think he's proberly working over time to figure out how to keep the main players despite graduation looming.

I would rather he change the cast then keep them around in teaching jobs etc... plus it makes sense financially.  Britney could stay 'cause she's not the sharpest tool in the box   He didn't say (in that article) that they'd be staying either.  I'm sure Murphy and the writers already know, he's just not letting us know.  But he has changed his tune, on the Project he said they needed people to replace the old cast this year.

I just think that the show wont be as popular anymore if they got rid of the main players like Finn, Rachel, Quinn, Puck and Kurt.

Maybe.  But there's only so many stories to tell and a new cast might liven the show up after three years.  New challenges for Sue, Will etc...

Wont that just do what Scrubs tried to do with season 9 bring in new characters just to keep the lifetime of the show going, but in turn new characters ruin the show a little, take a look at all the new kids from last season have been dropped this year around, Sam and Zizes are gone and we're left with the orginal cast again.

A school is a little different though, you expect new students to come and go.  I'm not sure why they've dropped Sam etc... Ryan mentions a spin off in that article but does he mean the original cast or a new club? Hmm.

Murpthy is a smart guy. He'll figure somthing out. I think the idea about the new students is great but I agree with MI Cruise. The show will fail. It's not the idea of 'Glee' everyone fell in love with. It's the characters. If they go the show will not last. Time will tell.

The only thing I can think of is this. Rachel, Kurt and despite my fears she'd be the first to go Quinn will get a spinn off in New York. Maybe with Mercades and Finn to boot. Obviously you'd have Rachael and Kurt on broadway, Quinn maybe running amock aka Taylor Monson punk like and the others for support. That's what I'd do. At the same time you could have 'Glee' continuing with the old and new cast mix. I think somthing like that could be around the corner. Fans may be more forgiving if they get the option to follow the others while still haveing 'Glee'.

Oh and I was gutted about Sam. He was a great character. I'd rather they kept him than the ones from the 'Glee' project.

They didn't get rid of Sam, Chord Overstreet walked away so they had to write him out.

Why would he walk away? Is it because they called him trouty mouth?

It seems strange to get successful at something and then quit.

I don`t know I think he might have seen some of those dreadful musical numbers last night and decided to quit before the show goes downhill. I hope it was a blip but it really was to me dreadful some of those numbers especially the Wizard of Oz so cheesy. How old do they think we are 10 it was like something you see on Milkshake!

I don't know, I just read that he walked away. It does seem odd, since he was unknown up to that point. Maybe he hopes he'll get a film career off the back of it and didn't want to tie himself down?

I just read an article about it.  They didn't pick up his contract, the fans went mental so they offered him a few episodes.  He said no.

He wants to be a pop star.

Good opening episode. Seems to have a clear goal so heres hoping it's a return to form. Then again, S2 started off strong.
