Massively obsessed with Calvin and Hobbes! Every year I try get out there and recreate some of the snowmen, sadly, I don't have the artistic capabilities. Or the will power to be cold for any length of time.

Not all strictly on topic, but just read the last one and be moved.

I didn't even need to scroll down to see what one you meant. And you are right. A truely brilliant piece of writing.

Yeah that's a great strip, that's one of the first C&H strips I ever read.

The most touching one for me is the Xmas present one Girv posted last year though.

My unpopular opinion
I actually think that ones a little too mawkish and sentimental (Hobbes saying 'little buddy' especially). Its quite an early one as well (you can see by the drawings) and he got a lot better at doing those kind of strips without being too 'cute'

I got my first C&H book in Nice staying on holiday at a friend's non-airconditioned flat. The first collection of strips was simply Calvin and Hobbes. It was later split in three - a blue one, orange one and a green one. I got the orange one. That was it. Hooked. Every birthday, christmas till I had them all my family required no thought and a mere modicum of communication.

I was gutted when he stopped writing them.

The snow stuff is genius.
