ORIGINAL: chicane09 Ok first thing is first.... "Although it wouldn't be the first time – technically speaking, the New Goblin, as played by James Franco in Spider-Man 3, was a new character." Actually no they didn't. The said actor was playing Hobgoblin which was in the comics if you bother to read them Mr Hewitt. But I won't go on about it. (btw I know he wasn't listed as Hobgoblin in the credits but that is what it was based on, hence the colour of his outfit so they didn't create anything new) Sorry, mate, but there is no way the Harry Osborn we saw in Spidey 3 was in any way related to, based on or even 'inspired by' the Hobgoblin, so it might be a bit unfair to accuse Chris Hewitt of not reading the comics! In the comics, Hobgoblin was primarily Roderick Kingsley, Ned Leeds or Jason Macendale, not Harry Osborn, who was the second Green Goblin only. The colour of the outfits are not even anything alike - the Hobgoblin is mostly brown and blue - neither of which was a prominent colour in Harry's Spidey 3 get-up. Now, I'm not a reader of Ultimate Spidey, but I do know that this version of Hobgoblin is actually Harry, although he is a mutant, not a dude in a costume, and again looks nothing like the Spidey 3 version. Sorry! Not to mention that nothing in any of the Hobgoblin storylines is even remotely similar to what happened with Harry in Spidey 3. So, um, definitely not the Hobgoblin. Oh, yeah, and thoughts on Spidey 3... Malkovich as Vulture = pretty cool. Hathaway as Hardy = ditto Vultress = no thanks! Black Cat, please.
