So it will be over-rated and crap... with fangs?

But seriously Brad Pitt producing could show that it has some credibility, Pitt afterall was in an interview with a vampire so he knows a good vamp movie when he sees it. That or he needs some money and this is the easiest way to grab some

It's a shame Brad Pitt is doing this, as Hammer Film Productions have had a script for a Vlad movie for years. It's supposed to be one of their great unmade projects. I'll shut up now, as I know Empire don't like to mention Hammer in their movie news.

Vlad the Impaler is scary as hell, so as long as this film is less Twilight soppyness and more "I have to go to bed with the light on" then it could be good. What with the crazy historical context it should be interesting.

and i'm sick and tired of seeing Dracula(Vlad Tepes in his birth name) being portrayed nothing like he was in reality.i just want this to be as historically acurrate as possible...

Old Vladdy deserves a biopic that does him justice, not some crappy Frank Miller-ish rip off made by a music video directing cretin.

Spamandham, Empire sometimes covers Hammer in tribute features, but never actually covers them in their news section. Hammer is currently more active now than at any point in the past twenty five years. It may not be the same family run company, but it is still news-worthy. I'm more than interested in how The Resident, Let Me In and The Quiet Ones turn out. It's a shame The Wake Wood is no longer classed as a new Hammer film, but the story behind that decision will no doubt be told in the future. For all the latest Hammer news, check out Richard Klemenson's fantastic Little Shoppe Of Horrors magazine. It's the most truly in-depth horror mag ever.
