Just to make me feel better about being a young filmmaker, could you confirm that, yes it was made for a few hundred $$$$ but it took nim YEARS to do the cg stuff.. "yeah, it only cost a few hundred dollars and I did it in a week!"

That short is pretty cool. However, I do find it odd that it's generated such a buzz. If the exact same video was posted as being a production of The Asylum, everyone would point out how weak the CGI is, it's the same music from 28 Days later, and pretty much built on composites of shots from Godzilla and Independence Day.

Yeah, unlike the stuff Bloomkamp did before District 9, this short isn't really telling a tale, or evoking much of anything. I still enjoyed it, but its at the level of those Half Life 2 short movies which have been done recently. Still, to pull something like that off is impressive.
