It's all ok, beacuse she has said that Jesus has forgiven her for her sins - he must really love her more than you will know.

Did anybody catch BBC Newsline this lunchtime. All throughout their reportage on Iris, they kept reffering to her as Mrs Robinson. Never Iris Robinson, but Mrs Robinson. They were bound to have known what they were doing there. UTV have kept up the "Iris Robinson" formality, but the BBC NI News department seem to have a previously unknown sense of humour to their news reporting.

I love the way she demanded part of the money be paid to her and the rest to her church.

Cuz all the big man needs a quick pay off and youre sound apparently.

Talk about guilt money.

Isn't there something about suicide being a sin as well as she attempted that when she got found out?

Love it. Just love it. All I want now is for Catriona Ruane to be implicated in this somehow. Anyhow! Please!

Anybody ever watch that UTV version of Quiz Call? I was flicking through the channels the other night and caught some of it. There's a red head on it who is beyond lovely.

And her accent's gorgeous too.

I was in HMV this morning. They have a similar sense of humour apparently.

What are people's favourite place in Northern Ireland?  Mine has to be Portstewart Strand.  Beautiful.

Decided to re-boot this thread because we don't have our own. We could potentially join forces with the Irish thread but that could result into all kind of nastiness, such as the ever raging debate as to who has the best Tayto Crisps (clue, they are EXACTLY the same).

Anywho, this is also a case of shameless plug as I'll be on Feile FM tomorrow talking about my blog and all things eco.

You can listen from 10am tomorrow on
http://www.feilefm.com/listen-live/

Any other Norn Iron stuff, add here...

Northern Irish Mr Tayto is slightly more terrifying. Apparently I met him once. I went to a Tayto factory on a youth club trip but all I remember is watching Biker Mice From Mars in the rec room before we left.

Met someone from Tandragee last night, the one topic of conversation I could muster in my drunken state? Tayto Castle and all things crispy. I bet she was so pleased to have met me.

If you live in the vicinity, it is expected of you to have a conversation with someone about The Castle.

The person you met should have been pleased that you brought the topic up.

*gasp*

NI Tayto Cheese and Onion are legendary. No other crisps come close.

If you go onto the Tayto website you can win a box of crisps if you recommend an unusual flavour;

Well not much point trying to tip toe around the white elephant, today is the 12th, and this was Broadway at the early hours of this morning:

a sad return to the bad old days over the past night or two.
But what is to be expected whilst the Orange Order stubbornly persist in marching through Nationalist areas, places where they are so unwanted that the police must force their passage through, thereby sparking off rioting? Until the Parades Commission bites the (rubber) bullet and re-routes the remaining few parades that still causes contention every year, these events will always generate a flashpoint situation with neither side, or the PSNI, coming out of it particularly well.

Talking to most of my mates, no-one wants a return to this shite and as always it tends to be a minority. One complaint though was that there has been a reduction, if not elimination  in some parts, of the role of community realtions workers in schools recently, following 70% funding cuts. A lot of those rioting look pretty young, surely they must be the main target of this kind of work.

I believe "recreational rioters" is the correct term!
Community relations officers have a tough enough job, even before funding cuts, so i'm sure they're pulling their hair out when the powers-that-be fail to eliminate this sort of flashpoint situation, which attracts these rioters and that undoes all their efforts.

Well another night of rioting from the skip rats here. Anyone living anywhere in the west or north of Belfast where it's all happening? If so, hope you're all okay.

Glad I'm out the way, and not beeing native, pretty much always have been. The closest we got was when my sister and I lived on Lawrence Street and they were rioting on the Donegal Ass. Even that was more of a curio for us; I remember being told to stay indoors one night by the cops, but didn't see or hear anything. We just sank a bottle of Goldschläger and watched something shit like X Factor instead of going out.
