...How this slutwaffle won an oscar for best screenplay, considering the script was one of the weakest things in that totally pieballs film, is freaktarded. Jennifer's Body looks dreadful and is definitely not giving me a wettie. Hopefully this will be proven on release (that its dreadful, not that I don't have a wettie), and thus put halt to this twunts "writing" career. Look, I made up a slang word all of my own! Ain't I clever? The answer is no.

My. Fuckin'. Hero. Well said. High five! No wait how about 'High Five' Said in a sarcastic way in an annoying nasal American tone so tweens will get hard nipples and treat my shitty screenplays like the second coming and i can get an oscar too. Cooolidge, wow check out the hip slang. Bollocks.

Did you not see the bit in Glengarry Glen Ross when Jack Lemmon called Kevin Spacey a homeskillet and then asked him for the leads over the burger phone?

Technically, wasn't this referring to the receptionist who's boyfriend wore condoms that 'made his junk smell like blueberry pie?'

Yeah, I may have seen Juno one too many times. Great film though.

...as William S. Burroughs once said and think some people on this board should take that into account. And you've got to laugh at all the grammatical and spelling mistakes in all these comments that are slagging off a writer's use of language, it really does reek of hiphopocracy (I'll have her job by the end of the week).

You don't see Joss Whedon getting this amount of abuse from the people who don't like him. I wonder what the difference would be between them

You know what I hate most about "Diablo Cody".

... The way her name is always preceeded by 'stripper turned writer', what the fuck, 'oh dude wow she totally busts the whole strippers are dumb stereotype wide open she's like a writer now oh wow'.

Imagine this with any other actor.  Former Carpenter turned actor Harrison Ford.

YES SHE USED TO BE A STRIPPER WE GET IT.

You maybe don't read the right sites? The loathing displayed by people who seem to personally resent the Whedonverse can be amazingly vindictive - think the Star Wars fans who hated LOTR because of its success. That bad.

I think a good part of this might genuinely be it is a writer who tries so hard to come up with 'unique' phraseology - and when it can't hang on to a decent script or story - as is the case with Jennifer's Body - it goes down like the proverbial lead balloon. There is no personality from the director or performances (bar Brody) in this film - so Cody is front and centre for the flak.

The problem is that it does go beyond that. It's not just with Jennifer's Body, this was for Juno too and a hell of a lot of the abuse was focused on calling her a whore because she used to be a stripper. Some of the comments on Oscar sites when she won were as hateful as the comments towards PSH from hardcore Brokeback fans when he won.

invent your own lexicon and have a shelf life of five minutes, unless you're anthony burgess. which you are not, ms cody. 2 types of slang on display here: outdated, and embarassing self conscious faux-trendy bollocks. since we're all sharing, i don't hate her name as much as i do her terrible terrible mid-90s post-ironic kevil williamson writing. juno is just one of those inde flicks that people who don't know much about film adore. and critics of a certain age. Empire, here's one for your code: Fool's gold.

There's nothing worse than film snobs...people thinking they're better and cooler than everyone else because they're so far above films like Juno! Kindly shut up with your complaining...if you don't like the article..don't read it! It says what it's about on the main page...so just don't bother clicking on it! Go about your lives, like whatever films you choose to like and stop bashing the films that didn't meet your standards! Be film fans and let others be film fans but don't be film snobs!!

Hey, does anybody know what "Diablo Cody" did before she was a writer?  Nobody seems to be particularly forthcoming with this information; the media especially.

You just proved you are as bad as us so called film snobs, look on any thread here and you'll find divided opinions. I know it must be scary for you when people do that as you are a 'film fan' and above all that. Defender of the honour of film fans everywhere! Up yours i'll say what i please as will you, i didn't die in the Falklands for bums like you to take away my freedom of speech.

Bangin' has been in the American lexicon for years. As has Cum Dumpster. "For shizz" was actually coined by the rapper Snoop Dogg. And grassy-ass? That's been said by elementary school kids learning Spanish for decades. This article does two things: first, prove that the insane media love for Diablo Cody is not only unwarranted but additionally unchecked; and second, that when it comes to neologisms, Diablo Cody is no Shakespeare.

I never really comment on stuff, but felt the need to after the stupid comments from peeps who are blatantly freaktarded.
To start with Diablo is a total bettie, and she's wicked smart to boot.
Juno + Jennifer's Body are totally wasted on arrogant film snobs, you suck guys and girls, nobody wants to hear you blast stuff that wasn't aimed at you, i'm sure there is an abundance of pretentious cinema out there for you to squawk you beaks at, leave Diablo alone, she's cooler than you can ever hope to be :p
