He would make a great Bjorn the sapeshifter who becomes a bear. Or maybe Brian Blessed for that role. Can he incorporate the line :"Gandalf's Alive!"

Bloody hell! Empire hasn't had such a packed and exciting news day since I don't know when. What are they saving up for Xmas? BTW, John Rhys Davis for the Troll King for The Hobbit or even Smaug himself if Del Torro sticks with a talking dragon.

I didn't realise how difficult a prospect a movie of The Hobbit might be until you listed all the dwarves- will be a bit of a clusterfuck if they try to give all those characters enough screentime, even with two films to do it in. It's LotR, not Ocean's 13.

R-D seems completely up his own backside - all this crap about "bringing something more to the role and as an actor"! What a jumped up jerk!

Nice the producers have that kind of loyalty to the old cast.

However I understand Rhys Davies, that he want to bring something else playing a character (or 2) for 2-3 very long shoots.

And listening to the extras on the extended - the makeup did ruin his face, so thats also another consideration and he is not exactly the youngest anymore.
