I watched The Elephant Man the other day and it had me sobbing like a child. Luckily I was alone and my partner had not returned from work or I imagine the stick I would have received for that would be endless.

What a heartbreaking film.

Yes and then some. The train station part was nearly too much for me.

Yes, I'll agree on The Lion King.

Also, the old Disney Robin Hood film used to make me cry. I think it was the scene towards the end in the church.

Whatever you do, don't let Splady see that (he loves his Dumbo).

Well ever since I had major surgery early last year, I have become much more in touch with my emotions, much more.

Plus becoming a Grandad!

Films that have me welling up, would be quite simple

Forrest Gump
Titanic
Shadowlands
Remains of the Day
Sense and Sensibility
Toy Story 3
Beauty and the Beast
Dumbo
Pinnochio
Bambi
Field of Dreams

Also Toy story 2 for that song.

Toy Story 3 me and little Harley had to sit in the cinema for ten minutes as we were both in pieces.
Best of the Best Yep get's me every time.
Armageddon.
Most recently the opening minutes of X -Men first class in the concentration camp. Anything set in that time period make me sob.

Ugh, by that point I was a bit of a mess. I think I actually shouted 'Aw, fuck off guys' at the monitor through quivering lips. It wasn't the first time I'd said that to the film either.

Hope y'all will excuse the Snakemeister as he wipes away the tears at the mere thought of THAT beautiful moment from THE IRON GIANT. And I shall now take the liberty of posting a wee list -

United 93 turned me into a sobbing wreck of a man.

The passengers of the plane making phone-calls to their family members and the final five minutes slayed me.

As far as I can recall I haven't cried at a film since ET when I was a child. Lion King came pretty close in my teens and oddly enough there are a few scenes towards the end of How To Train Your Dragon that slightly choke me up (I have daddy issues ).

I can't think of anything else that's come close to be honest.

I like a good sniffle during a movie, I find it cathartic. I find it almost impossible to cry about bad things that happen to me but films, the theatre and sometimes music can get my water works going

The Iron Giant
The Ghost and Mrs Muir
Imitation of Life (Sirk version)
Let the Right One In
You Can Count on Me
Polytechnique
Star Trek II
The Elephant Man
ET
Toy Story 2
Meet Me in St Louis
Black Narcissus
Vertigo
Mrs Soffel

Me too. I swore I would never watch that film again after the first time, but I ended up watching it when they showed it around the anniversary this year. It's probably the most heartbreaking film I've ever watched, because I find myself rooting for the passengers when they attempt to take the plane back, even though I know how it ends

Baby of mine yes! Am in tears thinking about it.
United 93
The Ghost and Mrs Muir rewatched that recently and sobbed
Serenity Book and Wash. I watched on my 4th date my Mr HQ turnt to him at the end with mascara dripping off my chin and just said "Why?"

Absolutely this. Many animal-themed films have the capacity to tug on my heartstrings.

The nearest I came to crying watching a movie, was as a kid when Simba's dad died in the Lion King!! Watched it again with my 3 year old son a few weeks ago, had a lump in my throat!! But towards the end when Simba kicks Scars ass, and you see him walking up pride rock, the hairs on my neck stood up!! The Lion King still remains for me an emotional roller coaster !

In adulthood, the closest I came to crying, well a few films spring to mind. One of them was Dances with Wolves, the ending when Costner rides off with Mary McDonell, and one of his Indian friend cries ''dont you know you are my brother'' or something to that effect (and this coming from the Indian guy who was most hostile to him at the start) ah man, that coupled with the majestic score by John Barry - the music swells up- gets me all the time!!

Other films of note which gave me a lump in my throat were;

The death of Jesse James in The Assassination of Jesse James

Million Dollar Baby

The death of Bob De Niro in Heat

When Lawrence leaves a teary eyed Sherif Ali in Lawrence of Arabia

The Music of Mascagni in Raging Bull

The death of The Don in The Godfather

The death of Connery in The Untouchables

I also cried when Jack died in Titanic.......NOT!! Ha ha!! That would be my sister!!

Ah man! How could I forget CINEMA PARADISO? The 'montage of kisses' one of the most heart breaking scenes!!!! God I love that film!!
