Come on people.
Man Up and admit it!

I'll unleash my what is hopefully short (and not too embarassing) list but I need some back up!

Does crying with laughter count?

I am a bloke but have no trouble blubbing and admitting it. I don't need to prove manliness. I have bollox and a cock.

I cry for differing reasons usually when its sentimental, violent, or because the filmaking is just so fucking good I think I failed in life not being able to do that (ie. feeling sorry for myself)

Examples?

I Cry At Field of Dreams ending, The Ending of Shawshank for example . Thats Sentimental.

I Cry ar the killing of Sunshine in Little Bigman or at the Patricia Arquette being beaten up in the Unrated version of True Romance. Thats at violence.

More recently I Cried at the end of Ratatouille, because I thought I had just seen movie making masterpiece. Thats envy.

Nothing wrong with blubbing. It just means you have let yourself be taken by a film and lost yourself in it. Id rather do this than give a shit that james Cameron wrote Rambo II. For me experiencing the emotion of the film is better than any amount of geek masturbation over factoids a la Tarantino.

Dancer In The Dark was a somewhat heartbreaking watch. Prompted a river of tears afterwards

I'm generally one of those people who cries at most 'sad' things in films anyway though

Unsurprisingly UP made me cry.

I turned to the lasses at the end after it and said
"Come on then how many times did you cry"
Lass - "None, I saw you weeping tho"
Me - "I have no problem expressing my feminine side! You, young lady have a heart as cold as stone"

It's comments like that which may also go some way to explain why I'm single.
Ah well, I made my point.

If Brotherhood doesn't make you blub like a little child that's stubbed it's toe then you're dead inside.

Absolutely. I was like a little girl with a skinned knee at the end of that!

There was something else I watched recently that left a lump in the throat. Can't remember what though...

Agreed.  I've watched this film only twice in my life, and both times I cried like a baby.  The second time was with my mother, and she blubbed as well.

'Once Were Warriors' also got a few tears from me.
'Of Mice And Men'.  Can't says as I liked the book very much, but the film was very good.

Saw this on tv again recently - the scene where he breaks down talking about how "it wasn't supposed to be this hard" really hit me. I didn't cry but I came close.

I cried at the end of The Lives of Others.

It is easier admitting this on a forum than face to face with someone.

I haven't watched that for ages but I do love that film. Strangely the thing I remember the most about it is laughing at inappropriate moments, but I think that's kind of the thing about it - there's times where you don't know whether to laugh or cry. At least I hope it's not just me....

Shawshank - Brookes. God that's heavy.

I like a good cry at an emotionally devastating film. Can anyone recommend any? I mean, ones that make you so upset that you shouldn't be around cutlery for the next 24 hours.

I think I have a problem.
