'casino royale'-'mr white, we need to talk'

'quantum/solace'-
'bond, we need u back'
'i never left'

the other bonds tend to end on a cheesy note with a one liner and a clinch with the bond girl.

Best ending was from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Almost everyone who died is now alive again and the abusive father gets slapped around. Perfect ending to one of the funniest films Ive ever seen

Raging Bull - at that point I loathed LaMotta but still found him kind of tragic and almost sympathetic, that's not easy.

The Great Escape.
You don't even see any of the heroes in the final shot, but the sheer defiance symbolised by THAT sound effect sums up the entire tone of the movie perfectly.

The Princess Bride.
"As you wish".  The most touching scene I've ever seen between two male members of the same family.  Summed up the grandfather - and the entire point of the fantasy plot - perfectly.

The Third Man.
He waits, she walks, and without missing a beat keeps walking without even looking at him.

A Scanner Darkly.
There's the blue flower.  How much of the man remains?

Back To The Future.
"Roads?  Where we're going, we don't need ... roads."  Possibly the coolest ending ever.

There are really cool endings in a lot of old movies. The latest one I can think of is the ending to The Dark Knight - Batman on the run, gets you really excited for the sequel

Also the ending of Iron Man was pretty good.

Hm coolest movie endings...

Escape From New York - Snake. Nuff said
Dead or Alive - Brilliantly random
Planet of the Apes (original) - Classic
Batman Begins - The Bat is back
The Matrix - 4 words: Rage Against the Machine
The Birds - Birdy num nums
The Usual Suspects - Why you lying...
The Ladykillers (Coen Bros) - Nice kitty
Dark Star - WTF!!!
Blair Witch Project - Spooky ending, shame about the rest of the movie
Terminator/Terminator 2 - He'll be back
Back to the Future - Marty!
Star Wars Episode III - Linking the series
Some Like it Hot - Nobody's Perfect
Casablanca - Unique
Dr Strangelove - Delightfully apocalyptic

Im sure there are others but my mind's a blank...

OBSESSION (1976)

Bernard Herrmann's music + De Palma's 360-degree camera pan = Wonderful.

It's capable of making the hair on your neck stand up.

The Godfather part 2 - Michael sitting alone as his brother his murdered as per his request, the flashback to a young Vitto and Michael on the train, the whole family together for Vitto's birthday and then Michael alone again. It's just so powerful.

I am absolutely behind you on Princess Bride and A Scanner Darkly. To these I would add No Country for Old Men and REC.

I love the whole trip/comedown first and second half thing the films got going on. Makes it even more like a drug trip.

Definitely, the last act feels sort of laid back but the rest was so chaotic you just accept it and go with it. It just works perfectly. Maybe it has to do with the kind of drugs involved at different stages of the film.

I know it's not really a film BUT I finally finished Twin Peaks last night, and I thought the ending was phenominal and thought provoking. Totally unexpected, after watching nearly 24 hours worth of the god damn thing! Very Lynch, very abstract, very complex... Loved it!

V for Vendetta. Thousands of londoners wearing  v masks and capes watch on as Westminister is blown up. Rec for the nasty no one gets out alive ending. Best horror film endings dont give you any happy endings.

Representing the horror angle, John Carpenter wades in with two.

The Thing - Needs no explanation

Prince of Darkness - Not as well known but when the leads awakes from a dream and his fingers reach out to touch the surface of the mirror...

Any Leone film I've seen, but especially Once Upon A Time In America's opium freeze frame and Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo's "Blooooooooondie".
The Apartment and Some Like It Hot for Wilder brilliance.
Unforgiven. I'm gonna analyse the last 10 minutes for Film Studies, should be amazing.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail/Life of Brian
etc.
