I long for the days of my youth when I could just watch a film and be entertained rather than feel compelled to complain about acting, writing, directing etc. It's part of the reason I don't read film news so much nowadays, I like to just watch things without analysing them too much. Amen to that! Taking Film Studies at college killed the joy of film for me to be honest. I'm glad I took the classes and I learned a lot (that I forgot) but now I over analyse things. I still enjoy playing 'spot the stunt double' though But it does add to the appreciation of them though. One of the joys I love about film is when I recognise why it all works so well, when I appreciate something like how great the lighting of the film is, the work and artistry that has been put through. And it makes also other films like Plan 9 from Outer Space even more awesome.
