Is there a petition I can sign to get this rolling! Please let Judge Death turn up half way through the plot as the source of the problem Dredd is trying to deal with.

At last a reboot worth doing.

Hopefully they'll do something 300/Tron-esque visually.

As a 20 year reader of Dredd I cannot wait, but I fully appreciate this could turn out to be pants. If it's done '300 style' the medium will be a lot more forgiving of some of the more bonkers plotlines of Dredd. Personally, I'd like to see the Judgement Day storyline. Dredd and Alpha! How ace would that be?

Whichever story they do, I hope they pick a strong one where Dredd is the most important character, but not necessarily the central. The stories are as much about Mega City 1 and its bonkers inhabitants as anything else. Dredd is so unbending (Old Stoney Face, etc), it's hard to give him an arc; the original film completely undermined him by making him adapt. He never adapts, because he is the law, and the city in a way. Sorry... "duh lurr"...

Stallone shouldn't go anywhere near it. He doesn't respect the character at all.

Yes, make it like Sin City I say and put the Fatties in there - it's ripe for a ribbing of modern American society. Oh and not so many special bullets for Dredd's gun this time.
Josh Brolin would make a great Dredd.

I'm still a fan of the original myself, if only there had been no drokkin' Rob Schnyder and kept the grud damn helmet on you'd have had a much more appreciated film.

That aside, I can't think of many who can fill the chin of Dredd though, Stallone obviously, Bruce Campbell, Eastwood would suffice as Dredd's clone father, Judge Fargo, Ron Pearlman would be perfect I reckon.

Boyle for director, yes please!

I hope Danny Boyle doesn't get involved in this seeing as he's said he doesn't like comic book films and has no interest in being involved when asked about it earlier this year. I'd rather see him get to work on something he's passionate about and leave Dredd for someone that wants to do it (although Dredd is one comic character I personally never gave two hoots about).

Dredd needs to hit the big screen with an understanding of the dark cynicism and humour of the comics - I'm sure DB is the guy to make that happen. Oh, and Michael Chiklis was born to play Dredd...

I was going to say Rourke, damn you!!!!

So yes. Great minds think alike. Mickey Rourke + Alex Garland + Helmet on + Alfonso Cuaron = Dreddful! (by which I mean good, not dreadful. Obviously)

I think Ryan Reynolds. He's pushed for everything else comic-related.

Well, if Garland's involved, you can pretty much guarantee it'll start off well, then run out of ideas about two thirds in & have a completely rubbish ending.

Lets have an unknown, or at least little known so as to avoid the producers wanting to take his helmet off. Oh yeah, Strontium Dog is defo a must!
