Picked this up the other week and watched it for the first time since I was a wee yin and it is still a good watch.  Highnoonish and some great exploding heads.  I think that the idea of a remake is not a bad idea.   With special effects the way they are now some cool things may be done.  As long as they keep the dark grity feel to the films world and don't make it all shiny

Watched this recently after Duncan Jones referred to it as an inspiration for Moon. It's a great film but think it would make a more interesting remake than usual - the final shoot -out could do with beefing up - But who would fill Shhhean's very big shoes? It's one of his best performances (after Juan Sanchez Villa Lopa Ramirez...).

Aren't you thinking of Zardoz? That was the one with Sean in the nappy.

I remember seeing this at my local flea pit on a double bill with Blade Runner...and thought Outland was a better film. Hey, maybe it's time for a Blade Runner remake as well...cause it really has dated badly...with Russell Brand playing Deckard and perhaps Rob Schneider as Batty.

I also bought it after seeing Moon. Which I have to say I loved, however it's references are painfully obvious. There seems to be a remake every other day at the moment. What i'm trying to say is Moon isn't anything we haven't seen before but it is a lot more creative and original than 90% of the remakes out there. So rip of the idea and create something new. . . . job done.
