A Third Window rep introduced a showing of Confessions at the Glasgow Film Festival today. That looks to be getting a short theatrical run-out prior to DVD release. There were 2 other Third Window films showing as well - Confessions of a Dog and the new Sion Sono, Cold Fish. He was a nice chap and, as you might expect, very enthusiastic. He actually spent more time talking about Confessions of a Dog, partly because they wanted to get more people to go but also, I assume, because unlike Confessions - which was a smash hit in Japan and a big award winner - Confessions of a Dog, about police corruption, got very little notice. Also, it sounds like they're not even going to bother trying to get Paco and the Magical Picture Book (Nakashima) as he just dismissed it as a kids' film - starring Koji Yakusho, you can pick it up from the likes of HKflix. Confessions - DVD/BD release 25/4/11 Cold Fish - DVD July 2011 Confessions of a Dog - March 14th 2011 Technically, he didn't actually say it was banned.
