This is (sort of) my introduction to Dustin Hoffman, and oh what a first impression (kind of); the film is a well executed exposure of the prejudice against women. You genuinely feel for Hoffman's complicated actor/actress and the people he touches (hilariously unintentionally in a few cases), but the film never leaves the great gags and novelty untouched - so all the while, it's a thoroughly entertaining film. Hoffman easily balances comedic and seroius acting, and the scene where he reveals his identity should of won him the oscar.
