Strange one about Templeton. Grew up in a Celtic family and had his dad's surname "Cooper" until it was changed. Then years later he decides to drop to the 4th tier of Scottish football to play for the . Daftie. But, there was a rumour going round that they hadn't completed the signing by midnight. Would be funny if they didn't manage to do it in time.

League'll be done by Xmas.

4th in SPL - 2pts of fthe lead. 4th in EPL - 7 points off the lead. 8 points between top and 2nd bottom.

1 round of fixtures complete. 13 different recipients of yellow cards for fouls on the Dons' winger Ryan Fraser.

Dons u-21s humped Motherwell 5-1 midweek. Got a young lad called Declan McManus scoring for fun. The way Vernon's going the yoof may get a sniff.

Something eerily familiar about this. Cup tie, penalties, crap performance, evident lack of bottle. Honestly thought we were past this. Which is exactly the time when fitba usually kicks me in the nuts.

I'm keeping a running tally on cards shown for fouls on Ryan Fraser - 16 yellows in 14 games now, 1 red. Should have been more. Bright young talent getting kicked out of the game. He was only on the pitch 40-odd minutes tonight. 2 bookings, should've been 4.

I highly doubt that, but I guess we'll find out for sure in a few years time - unless there actually is a revolution in scottish football that addresses everyone's current unrelenting course towards Armageddon.

In the mean time, I'll be doing all I can to help out a club I've been following regularly since I was 4 years old. The prospect of there not being a Hearts for a future 4 year old of mine makes one very, very sad.

Admittedly this scenario has been brewing for years, but that doesn't make it any less depressing.

Going into administration almost seems like a victory at the moment. I'll take it though if it means being able to preserve the club long term & getting its control back in the hands of decent people who actually care about it.

Liquidated for no reason.

So, every employee of every company in the UK should from now on be paid via EBTs. Cuts tax liability by a huge amount. We could have a nation of employees "paid" nothing, taxed nothing... presumably free to claim benefits.

Surely this ruling could absolutely buckle the state.

Really, "paid" was the wrong word. It's a loan. No tax on a loan.

I don't know if Newsnight Scotland makes it onto iplayer but there was a talking head on it last night that suggested there was no tax liability.

Of course, that's if the ruling holds up. HMRC are appealing.
