Having seen the film in the States, I can say it is worth every one of those five red stars.

I've heard of this film before but I did'nt think it would be getting the kind of write up it's getting, especially a 5 star review from you guys. I'll add this one to my list.

Does anyone else think that war 'dramas' are bit of brain washing and proganda? Just seen the trailer, and yet more white man & his lapdog to save the world. I suppose it requires standing back a little further than the sofa to understand that.

I saw the trailer months ago and was very impressed and excited. It's been a while since Kathryn Bigelow did anything worth watching so I'm keeping an open mind.

Interesting 5 star review from Empire, slight hyperbole I think. I saw this movie over a year ago and thought it was excellent but question if it is "one of the greatest American films of the decade".....surely that honour would fall to There Will Be Blood?! However, one thing is not in question, it is the best movie made about the Iraq war so far and a wise choice to stay away from any political nonsense.
