I know i may have inadvertantly started the spoiler discussion but can we get back to talking about the show.

I hate the stuff with the silver hood on Eddie his face looks so horrible after it really made me feel sick.

We haven't seen the silver hood taken off yet!

Although as it was steaming I assume it would leave a graze

Jason's missus went psycho, though surely the old vamp could have still kicked ass, he seemed to go a bit easy for my liking...

Yep, it hasn't even been taken off yet.....*sigh*

Yeah he was a little easy to take down for my liking, he didn't even put up much of a struggle. I'll put it down to his way of living though, he's obviously a mainstreaming vampire, maybe he want's to live as much of an ordinary life as he can and wasn't expecting for two crazy V obsessed humans wielding silver to come barging in like that I especially liked the 'Heroes' reference. Jason's missus might be mental but she has nice breasts....

Bill got taken down in a pretty similar way in the first episode so I didn't see it as much of a problem the way this vamp went down. Agree about the breasts though. V nice. Speaking of nice breasts, isn't she the girl who played Lindsay Lohan's friend in Mean Girls?

Yes she is! Also features in Cloverfield.

One for the lay-deez, is it just me or is Eric the hottest thing on screen right now?!

LOVING this show, I get so excited every Friday waiting for the new episode!

I seem to be the only one who was disappointed with friday's episode - I found all the shagging rather boring to be honest - I wanted more vampire killing, bloodsucking action etc.

Oh and ditto to the Sam annoyance - his hair, his pious ways, his face - he is irritating!

Agreed.

Just wondering will FX be showing the second season straight away after this season or will there be a short break?

Regarding the newbie slip... I'm saying nothing!!!

More importantly imo is this:

Does anyone know? My gut feeling is probably not and we'll have to wait till next year!

Not long till the end of S1 either...

I googled it quickly to try and avoid any spoilers but I can't see anything that says they'll be showing it straight away, shame really. I'm guessing S2 will probably air after S1 has aired on C4.

Channel 4 has acquired UK rights for two dramas from US cable network HBO, True Blood and Generation Kill.

True Blood, a 12-part series starring Anna Paquin and British actor Stephen Moyer, is set in the not-too-distant future when vampires can survive on synthetic rather than human blood. Paquin recently won best drama actress in the Golden Globes for her performance in the series.

The creator and executive producer of True Blood is Alan Ball, who created Six Feet Under, while the story is based on the novels of Charlaine Harris.

Channel 4 has also acquired the UK terrestrial rights for Generation Kill, the latest project from David Simon, the creator of The Wire. Generation Kill, which had its UK TV premiere on digital channel FX on Sunday, is a seven-part miniseries from HBO Films that tells the story of the first 40 days of the 2003 Iraq war through the eyes of a group of young US marines. The drama is based on a book by Rolling Stone reporter Evan Wright, who was embedded with a US marine unit during the second Iraq war.

The Channel 4 head of acquisitions, Gill Hay, said both series would find a "natural home" on Channel 4. "We are thrilled to bring more fresh, imaginative and bold US drama to Channel 4 audiences," Hay added.

"True Blood and Generation Kill are examples of HBO programming at its thought-provoking and challenging best."

Both programmes will be broadcast on Channel 4 later in 2009.

After seeing what Channel 4 did to the Best TV Show Ever (The Sopranos), I expect they'll put True Blood on a Thursday night as 12.20am or something...

I am so sorry, folks. I didn't realise you're still watching the first season. I've edited my previous message. I hope there are still some people who haven't seen it.

Just keep an eye on the thread titles - they are very clear which speed the show is being watched it. If you're unsure, then ask or check the channel.

Last nights episode was fangtastic!

*Spoilers for those that haven't seen it yet*

The Sam part at the end was funny, you thought he'd be a little more careful It was great to see more of Eric and the Vampire ways, and I feel sorry for the poor Vamp that Jason has locked up, hopefully Jason will do the right thing but I think Amy has other ideas....

When they treat shows like that i dont understand why they bother paying the money for it in the first place.

Why do Jason and his missus not seem to realise they are commiting a major crime? And she is doing my head in with her hippie bullshit

How's Sam gonna explain that one to Detective Belfour!? I think Sookie will be more forgiving.

Las Friday's episode was OK but all the sex shit with Jason/his nutcase gf is now just leaving me bored tbh. I preferred his more non-chalant/nastier side in the novel.

True Blood starts on C4 in October.

...Oh and anyone else think that Sam might be a dog!!??

The thing is, I've moved to a students' dormitory some time ago and I have no TV-set ever since. I'm watching everything online and I'm so used to it that I thought everyone does the same thing. Ok, it's a stupid excuse. I'll be a good girl, I promise.

There are the books about Sookie and Co. Anyone read them?

i havent read them. but i understand that each season follows very loosely the books (so season 1=book 1, season 2=book 2 etc etc). I have read a few bits and bobs about how the books portray stuff that has already happened in the show and it seems that quite a lot has changed. For example i think there are certain characters in the books that are minor or are even not present in each book but are much more prominant in the series. I think its a good idea not to follow the books totally otherwise it would be boring for those that have already read them plus it would be so easy to find out exactly whats coming and thats no fun.
