this is a FANTASTIC film

totally love it - its right up there with First Blood

the violence in this film is horrific, and frightening, just as it should be

if you get the chance to watch or buy this on Blu-Ray make the purchase - its gripping in detail, gore and beautiful landscapes


the ending is very satisfying for the viewer, if you have followed John Rambo's sad story through the 4 films

I absolutely agree here and this why there is NO need for the proposed fifth film - I love Stallone but as I've said before, I'm really not sure about another instalment in this series. He ended the stories for both ROCKY and RAMBO in the most perfect ways.

Right on, snake! No need for a 5th Rambo film. Especially for one with that Far Cry-esque storyline that Stallone came up with.

Got to agree, the character arc has completed with Rambo going home. I just hope that EXPENDIBLES is a big hit and he continues that as a franchise, rather than exhuasting the Rambo cash cow.

Let's not ruin one of my favourite bloke film series!

 I'm glad I'm not the only one who agrees that the fourth was and should be the last RAMBO film. Stallone is a smart guy and I'm confident that THE EXPENDABLES will be a success, I just hope that the proposed fifth Rambo idea just fizzles out and disappears!

This is a beautiful book I picked up in Japan last year. ok I can't read it but it has TONS of colour photos and posters from all four movies.

 Sorry but I thought the ending was horribly tacked-on. Right down to Rambo wearing the same clothes as he did at the beginning of First Blood. It just didn't feel like there wasn't real character arc completed to justfy it. No more so than in parts 2 or 3 anyway.

I must disagree there; earlier in the film, Sarah asks John if he was ever curious as to how things turned out back home and he replies "You gotta have a reason for that." He never talks about how he truly feels and we can only imagine the things he's seen in over twenty years (whose to say he never had other adventures between the timeline of the third and fourth films?). Perhaps the surviving the final battle made him realise that he had a purpose, a reason to go back home. I love the fact that no words are spoken at the end, just a glance between John and Sarah and when he does walk down the road which leads him home, I like the fact there is no-one there to greet him (this is not to say he will be alone, it just leaves a lot to the imagination).

The villains in this film were ridiculous stereotypes but then Stallone doesn't do subtle, great fun though.

 This film is way better than rambo 3, mainly for the action it reminds of rambo 2. And from what i've heard about the next one is going to be like bring it on, i'm also looking forward to the expendables.

Have to say this movie left me in awe the violence and carnage that insues is absolutely phenomenal just wasn't expecting it. I never would have thought. Very good film.

its a real surprise when you first watch the 2008 Rambo film

I also recently had this pleasure, after finally getting around to watching "Rocky Balboa" - thoroughly enjoyed watching this, as much as the 4th Rambo film

Stallone gets better with age ;)

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced DVD and Blu-ray releases of Rambo - Extended Cut for the 27th July. The film will include 9 extra uncut minutes. Each release will also include a 60 minute production diary.
