These movies are for 13 year old girls and by all accounts (I have 2 thirteen year old sisters) the audience love them.

I don't get why adults bitch and moan about Twilight. You don't see 13 year old girls watching Reservoir Dogs and saying "It's crap, there wasn't enough senior prom in it."

It's a kids movie and kids like it. End of story.

Regardless of who they are aimed at there does seem a desparate bid to churn them out before interest is lost (not a comment on if they are any good as I have never seen the film and read the books).

You would think films like this and transformers were bloody oscar winners or summin the way they are plugged on empire. I really missed the days of empire being a film magazine.

Fabulous!
I'm a 16 year old girl, and this is the kind of thing we all love!
Will "adults" please stop bitching about it??
You don't like it, fair enough, don't watch it and complain at everyone who does!!!

...also the fact that its a series makes sense that they are going to churn them out!
We'd get bored of waiting... its just like the harry potter series, you either love it or hate it, plenty of adults like those books!

The only reason I'm mildly interested in this one is because David Slade is directing, and Hard Candy was brilliantly directed. If he can bring some of that to the table, then this may actually be a bit tolerable.

I was just looking at the imdb page for this film. There's a thread where people talk about the dialogue from the book that just HAS to be in the film. I can't decide if my favourite is

Bella: I hate you, Jacob Black.
Jacob: That's good. Hate is a passionate emotion.
Bella: I'll give you passionate. Murder, the ultimate crime of passion

or

Jacob: He's like a drug for you, Bella. I see that you can't live without him now. It's too late. But I would have been healthier for you. Not a drug; I would have been the air, the sun.
Bella: I use to think of you that way, you know. Like the sun. My personal Sun. You balanced out the clouds nicely for me.
Jacob: (sigh) The clouds I can handle. But I can't fight with an eclipse.

or

Bella: You can't make me go somewhere you won't be. That's my definition of hell. Anyways, I have an easy solution to all this: let's never die, all right?

Stephanie Meyer is the reanimated corpse of Ed Wood. That's the only explanation for writing that bad.

Hahahaha. Thatīs very funny! And I totally agree: within itīs genre, ie kiddie film, itīs fine. Donīt hold it up to Big People Film standards.

How dare you diss Ed Wood like that? Have you been watching bestaility by any chance like Pigeon Army does all the time?

I think that can excuse, considering the excellent writing you can find in "kiddie films", and what is a kiddie film? Surely Salo is one right?

I used to take the piss out of the female Twilight fever that occasionally erupted on the Empire boards, but at the end of the day some of us guys are equally as sad when we get super excited about the next Marvel/DC film coming out. I mean, clearly the films aren't aimed at most of the readers of Empire, so maybe we should just try to ignore it, and let the fangirls/...boys? of the series carry on with their discussions:D]

And like someone else above, I'm kind of intrigued to see what David Slade will do with his chapter, I liked Hard Candy and really liked 30DON, so I might have to end up watching the others just to catch his movie.
