wonder if the extended version will ever find its way onto DVD or if it will only be a BR thing? dont want to buy the DVD then find out later the extended cut is due out on DVD in a few months.

has that ever happened before where the extended version is only avaliable on BR?

they obviously pushing BR with all the extra stuff now - Extended T4, more extras for Trek and Wolverine...

The play.com BD steelbook for me.It just looks a lot cooler than that shitty cover with Bale and Worthington on it.

You are not missing much at the moment. This Director Cut is wafer thin and isn't the cut people really wanted. There is still a massive amount of footage to be re inserted like this

Long time lover of Terminator to a point that I even sorta liked T3!
I avoided this film in the cinema cause I just wasn't interested and now fancy getting the DVD.

So I stroll into the DVD shop and see two separate DVDs - a 1disc vanilla and a 2disc with a fancy skull case and extras both with a '1hr 50' run time.

Bluecock release has a "director's cut" 135min release.


Am I right in thinking that someone fucked up and the Stingray release isn't 135mins and there's no director's cut on DVD? If it's an extra 3minutes then yeah that's rubbish but christ's sake! Why not make a proper director's cut? Lotsa people downloadin' and all that.... prime retail oppurtunity before xmas...

Why the hell not release the best version now? Twats.

I bought the directors cut blu-ray, you have the option of watching the normal or directors cut.  TBH there doesn't seem to be that much different.  Why cut the boob scene in the first place? It's not like you see them properly.  The DC runs at 117 mins.

So that's an extra 7mins on the standard theatrical version?

Damn, there's gotta be a proper director's alternate version due out in a 20disc box set with a life sized skeleton!

T3 isn't a disaster. It was unfortunately by the numbers but it's a watchable and enjoyable film. It lacked the epic scope it followed and of course it'd have made sense for the third Terminator to be the big future war that T4 apparently is. But c'mon, T3 isn't the sack of shit people make it out to be.

It's amazing how opinions change once there's a sequel like in this case.

 No it was a bad joke version of T2, verging on parody. This was at least an entertaining robot action flick without any cleavage inflating or stripper glasses scenes.

They did film a LOT more. But it seems like they were changing so much as they went along that the deleated stuff simply wouldn't fit in. Without the ending, none of what came before makes sense. Carter had to leave set due to a berevement - she was suppose to be like Marcus, but changed it to a face on screen.

Will we ever see it? I suspect maybe once the rights have been bought we will have a better idea.

Arnie was miscast in it and shouldn't have been there. The joke with the Elvis style sunglasses was awful. It was a decent midway film that could've set up a sequel in the same sorta vein as Back to the Future part II. No it's not fantastic but it's not as abysmal as people are now saying it is.

I don't think that they were sure that Arnie would give them permission so if they had to, the T-800 would appear with skin everything but the head. The grenade was just to make sure the effect didn't stay around for long.
