If you have a multi region Blu Ray player, then yes.
What with the 4 disc UP Blu Ray and the 5 disc WATCHMEN Blu Ray by the end of the year looks like i'll be living on bread and water again come November ( a lot like last year ).

Some are in fact far more than standard DVD`S. DVD Times do mention that the UK Blu Ray release only will have the extended cut too on the same disc. If this is the case I`ll cancel my order for the US release and get the slightly cheaper Blu Ray release from HMV with Terminator head packaging (like the Bat Mask for the Dark Knight not the expensive skull head)

Why is that a problem if the Extended Cut is only on the US Blu Ray and its multi regional?

I was under the impression that the PS3 can't play American discs...

I assumed as it can play standard R1 DVDs, it can't deal with R1 Blu Rays.

I`m sure it can like any other Blu Ray Player if the Blu Ray disc is multi regional. Amazon are advertising the Terminator Salvation Blu Ray Region 2 as extended now but nothing mentioned like that on HMV.

Alright,

So the R2 DVD is listed as 111mins
the R2 Blu-Ray Extended is 115 mins
and the R1 Extended is 135 mins

I think I will wait and see what comes down the stream before ordering anything.

Just checked and your right thats very misleading. Either they`re going to let us have the extended full cut in R2 or not thats awful. Stupid rights rules with various studios as to what cuts they can sell. Its a bad deal for the consumers and we should come first! US Multi Region release it is then.

Technically the PS3 is region locked - but there are many region free releases to counter this; it usually takes a quick bit of research before buying anything to make sure you're compatible.

Directors Cut is only 3 minutes longer

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/terminator-salvation2.html

Sounds like to me you get Moon boobies (although in shadow) and a screwdriver stabbing.

No deleated scenes either.

Screw this.

Directors Cut is apparantly going to be on the UK Blu Ray through seamless branching. The DVD is still the theatrical cut.

I used to rate Warners as being pretty great with their DVDs, but between this and Watchmen, they really are being pretty blantant in trying to get people to jump onto the HD ship. Its pretty darn shoddy if you ask me.

Timon,

Use this site http://bluray.liesinc.net/ if they list any American disk as region free, your PS3 will play it no problem.

According to the above link for DVD WorldUSA the US Extended Cut is still quoted as 135 minutes. If it isn`t HMV Blu Ray for me. I wish they would make up their minds!

The above link shows the sales poster for the DVD. If you look at the bottom of the poster in small print it says "Directors Cut - 118 mins"

Sony have yet to announce it but UK Blu Ray is getting both cuts through seamless branching. Amazon have already changed theirs.

I was talking about the link for DVD WorldUSA which still states the Directors Cut on the US disc is 135 minutes as pointed out by yourself too earlier. I guess they must be wrong if the PR release from the studio states 115 minutes.

Yeah WorldUSA also got the date wrong for the release I believe.

I would stick with the PR release. Sucks cause I was really interested in those filmed subplots which were removed.

It seems details for this are all over the shop...

I'll wait till it's on the shelves.

It appears that

R2 - Blu Ray - Both cuts of flm.
R2 - DVD - Theatrical Cut.
R1 - Blu Ray - Both cuts of film
R1 - DVD - Directors Cut

At least how I think that pans out. You should be alright Ti.

Wrong

America region

DVD - 1 Disc Theatrical cut
Blu Ray - 3 Disc Director Cut

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/terminator-salvation2.html

The DC is 20 minutes longer and we need to import the WB Blu Ray version to see it. Sony European version is the Theatrical Cut.

Now I just look at Sony's extended cut and that just three minutes of extra footage and this might be why people are getting confuse with the director cut. it is not the director cut but it is a scam in a way to confuse people into buying the european version.

I don't think so

That link is to a PR release for the American market, thus the retail prices being in dollars. At the bottom, in small print it says that the Directors Cut is 118 mins.

There is no extra 20mins - it appears that information was wrong.

In fact DVDtimes, which reported the 135 min cut intially, thus creating all these rumors, has removed that detail from their article.

I am certain that there is no 135 min cut. You will get some Crews at the start, some Moon boobs and a kill using a screwdriver. To be honest, these things are not deal breakers to me.

It's so strange that boobs in an action are so rare these days, back in the 80s you always got to see at least one pair at some point or another.
