That provides as good a hint as any for the challenged among us I suppose. What, besides being an utter c*nt, was McRaney's profession in the nostalgic wonderfulness that was The A-Team?

OK, I'll leave poor old Hearst hanging with only Shifty in the know.

Now, other examples of folk from other TV shows getting a wee role in TWW:

Which cop from The Wire plays a cop in TWW and baffles which senior staffer?

Which member of the Modern Family turns up in TWW and is unimpressed by which senior staffer?

The cop from The Wire is Daniels and the senior staffer is Toby.

The Modern Family character is Jay (I think). Not sure who the senior staffer is, though.

Well done on Daniels.

Jay is in it, but he's in it for a few episodes (bonus points for his character). I wasn't meaning him, I'd clean forgotten he was in it. There is... another.

Missed this thread recently!

Hearst played the USAF commander (Adamly or something) that reveals to Leo in "War Crimes" that one of his Vietnam missions was against a civilian target and not a military one. "All wars are crimes" . He was also in the Situation Room in the Season 5 finale "Memorial Day"

Jay (he'll always be Al Bundy to me) played Governor Baker, who threw his hat into the ring for the democratic nomination at the end of Season 6. Given his rejection of the VP that Russell offered, I'll take a guess at Will as the senior staffer. But...since he didn't declare for Santos, it might also have been Josh...hmm...

OK, if it's not Jay, then wasn't Cameron the staffer who was pissed off with CJ when she basically accused him of leaking info to the press?

Not Mitchell, Not Cameron... options dwindling rapidly.

Points to Sharkboy for Hearst mind-phucking Leo. And bonus points for the Baker namedrop.

Bugger.

Extra points to Sharkboy for spotting Cameron when I forgot him. And for attaching a staffer.

Dammit.

So, my inital Q should've been:

"Who from Modern Family appears in season 3 of TWW, and isn't Jay or Cameron, and which senior staffer is he unimpressed by?"

Harrumph.

Sharkboy way out in the lead after impressively overtaking Shifty. Matty_b trailing behind.

No. You'd think so. But you'd be wrong. Bonus points count for more.

Well, you do, but that's ok.

I didn't even know it was a competition until now anyway, so it's no big deal.

It's a quiz. Therefore a competition. I don't make the rules. Crumbling cookies and stuff.

Right, leaving the family member hanging for now, a couple more Qs for the answering.

In how many episodes does C.J. sing? And name them.

Which of the 3 words in the English language beginning with "dw" do the staffers fail to name in the allotted time?

Dwindle, dwarf and dwell

When you say sing, do you mean the whole song or just a snippet? 'Cause if it's whole songs then its just The Jackal in Six Meetings Before Lunch. Snippets is a longer list - I'm Too Sexy (Gone Quiet) and in H-Con 172 she sings that "Boy boy, crazy boy" thing to Sam but not sure what song it is or even it was a song!

It was dwell. Point to sparkwood.

Sing as in sing.

Sharkboy loses a point for the Jackal. C.J. was only singing in the same way that people sang on TOTP.

Sharky gets 2 points for the other two named.

There is a third. And even an implied fourth - a bonus point for this.

Do we see CJ sing the Notre Dame song or is it only ever implied that she has to?

OK, the fight song is implied. Though that wasn't the one I was meaning. A "sneaky sod" point to steffols.

The one I'm referring to is actually sung, we hear it sung, but we do not see the singers.

Doesn't she join in the rendition of He Is An Englishman for Ainsley?

She does indeed go all Gilbert and Sullivan.

Yet another point for Sharkboy.

Just remembered another implied one - the Thanksgiving song "We Gather Together" that she has to sing with the schoolkids in "Shibboleth"

Sharky romps ahead. The music over the closing credits of Shibboleth is that weird thanksgiving song.

Shifty slinks off in a sulk 'cos Sharky is clearly the bigger Wingnut.

The only outstanding Q is the Modern Family one. Will anyone get it before the Judge calls time?
