The last battle is no fun at all really. Should have been replaced by a Harbinger boss.

After completing it about 6 months ago with the original bullshit ending, finally got round to experiencing the extended cut after lovefilm delivered ME3 yesterday.

SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW

Well, it's by no means perfect & had bioware gone with this originally, I would have probably still felt a little underwhelmed.

To their credit though, at least it does offer some proper closure this time round & had they had this ending from the start, the outcry wouldn't have been anywhere near as severe.

Certainly appreciated being able to ask the ghost child more questions, along with the "go fuck yourself" spiel.

I chose synthesis, as that was the one I went with the first time round. Will probably check out control & destroy later on today.

I've just picked this up and it's slap bang back into the Mass Effect world!!! Wow it looks really amazing as well, the initial bit when your running outside as the massive Reaper ships are attacking is a killer image. You have to just stop and 'admire' the scene.

It's interesting that importing the ME2 game brings in whatever areas you stuck your levelling up points into as well which really gives it that feeling of continuation.

I almost don't want to play it too much because every second on it brings it closer to the end

Have you downloaded the free Extended Cut DLC? I would recommend it...

Pity that all the characters you worked so hard to save in ME2, and build relationships with get utterly thrown to the sidelines and sort of tacked in willy nilly as a token gesture.*twitch* (Yeah I'm still annoyed at not being able to romance Samara )

That's a real shame actually, although it would have been a tough task to include them because the variation on the numbers killed in the final battle in ME2 would have complicated matters. I lost a few teammates and left it that without playing it again and I'm sure all the people who played ME2 didn't replay it to try and get everyone through.

Oh yeah, I can't concieve of how complicated it would have been, but on the other hand, those characters - Jack, Miranda, Samara etc feel like a bit of a sideshow. Even Ashley (presumably Kaiden goes through a similar thing, who knows) is reduced to a depthless character by the end of the third game, a real shame considering what I feel like I'd been through with her. Which actually annoyed me more than the end of the game, to be honest.

I finished the game two months ago and was so disappointed I didn't ruin that ass. Much more so than the ending. I'm starting to doubt if it's even possible. I wasted so much time by going up and talking to her after EVERY mission or even remotely significant event. Only to get the same dialogue every time and my option was either to let her continue her 'work' or kick her off the ship. Which is BS as in real life my character would be like:
''I'm under a lot of stress and pressure with having to save the universe again. You can do your bit by being my sex slave and pleasing me when asked. In return, you can stay safe on my ship and I'll give you frequent interviews. Deal Allers?''
That would have worked but I wasn't given the option.

That really pissed me off. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure there isn't a single character from ME2 that is part of your team for ME3. They more or less just turn up as cameos. There should have been less Kaiden and meathead marine dude and more Legion and Thane.

Yeah exactly. It devalues the brilliant last mission in ME2, if it doesn't reaaaally matter who you bring back.

I lost Mordin and Zaeed. The most horrific moment was when I lost Garrus, "fuck that!" *restarts mission*

I lost Zaeed first playthrough and nobody the 2nd. Actually I guess it's a touch harsh to refer to Kelly as nobody, especially after the dance she did for me. I'll rephrase that as I lost no squadmates on my 2nd playthrough .

Anyone got the Leviathan DLC?

Anyone?

Sounds like it should have been day one DLC considering the story runs before the end of the game.

Anyone?

I don't see the point in adding more story DLC when the end result will always be the same: Shepard dead, galaxy boned. You're not achieving anything.

Also, from what I've heard it makes the ending even more dumb. BioWare continue to try to salvage the ending by addings a couple of lines of dialogue here and there and all they do is keep digging the hole deeper. YOU CAN NOT FIX THAT ENDING. IT'S SHIT TO THE VERY CORE.

Just to re-iterate how good this game looks, when you get to the Citadel for the first time and you're standing in the docking bay looking out at all the ships it's fucking pristine with the light shining through and all that. Pure sci fi man!!!!!!!

Also my romance with Liara (sorely missed in ME2) is also back on track - she actually asked me about Tali - I wanted to reply ' a man has his needs'

I do however want a crack at that big boobed reporter on the ship without jeopardising my relationship with my blue skinned babe

Early 21st century hoodies. Certainly what I think of first when I think sci-fi.

Playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time on PS3. I have well and truly slept on this franchise. I thought the interactive comic-book for the first game was a nice touch.

If it included all the DLC for all 3 games then I could be tempted actually. But it probably won't.

I think the same question was asked on TA, but I don't think it was answered. I bet it won't include all the DLC, not for that price!

That means the fiirst Mass Effect will be available for the PS3 as well. Great news for PS3 owners.

I wonder what EA had to give Microsoft for that, seeing as Microsoft published the first game.

Probably a promise of timed exclusivity on DLC for future games or some gubbins.
