Im looking forward to the websites for each character that they showed in the Making of clips. Dont know how its meant to all tie together but I love the idea.

I've always loved the huge amounts of work that went into the bios for each character on their dvds.  It's amazing just how much work they put into everything.

Definitely. I love all the extra stuff they put in.  Them and Simon Pegg and co really know how to put together a decent dvd.

Shaun of the Dead is still the definitive DVD in my eyes. 4 commentaries! I was in heaven. Kevin Smith was great as well until he went all emo over Zach and Miri and refused to add any decent extras to the dvd. Boo hiss Kevin! Boo hiss!

Shaun of the Dead is an amazing dvd, as is the Spaced one.  I love the homage-O-meter.  Haven't had a chance to look at the extras for Hot Fuzz yet.  I didn't know that about Kevin Smith.  What a fool!

Im in hope this will be good. Ive never loved british comedy as much as the late 90's early 00's. LoG, Spaced, Jam, Brass Eye, The Office...wondeful times.

Same here.  I think it was a great era for Brit comedy.

I think what helped was that they all knew each other.

I think before every one was just out for themselves, but with the Spaced and Father Ted and Alan Partridge etc there was a real feeling of a large network of friends.

(Doesnt stop me being bitter about Little Britain though )

I'm really looking forward to this, there hasn't been a truly great Brit comedy since Black Books ( at least, there hasn't been a show to give me lines like "I feel like I've been beaten up, underwater"

Definitely! It's great that they all turn up in each other's work. There was a real sense of camaraderie in Brit comedy.

Love Black Books.  Haven't watched it in quite a while though. This needs to be rectified immediately.

Don't make me laugh......bitterly.

I watched it not long ago. Still fab. It deserves alot more recognition than it gets. I prefer it to Spaced actually (and I love Spaced).

The fact that theres no commentary on the series three disc still rattles my cage. The first two are so funny. Particulary when they make fun of Dylan for the way he says "film". Dylan gets all cross and says that the wheels of history will change and Ireland will invade England. Bill replies "Ah yes the great latte famine."

Black Books is almost the epicentre of the chain of comedy friends. Every one was in it. The only one to rival it is Green Wing I think, which just is overflowing with actors from the other shows.

Ooh tough. I think Spaced edges it for me, though I haven't watched either in a long time.

The commentaries are fab, I love it when Bill and Tamsin do terrible Oirish accents to piss off Dylan.

Both Black Books and Spaced had a huge amount of comedians in them - for some reason I'm always surprised when Ricky Gervais turns up in Spaced.   I adored Green Wing but the Special seemed to kill my love for it.  I don't think I've watched it since.

I refuse to buy the Special. Even though its like 6 now I still dont think its worth it. In my head Guy and Caroline are still together and Guy is teaching their legions of kids how to play Guy Ball in park somewhere.

*high fives*

Guy and Caroline were clearly meant for each other.  They had far more chemistry than Caroline and Mac for sure! Plus I just thought Mac could be an absolute tosser at times.  Guy was far more endearing and clearly the better kisser.

Yes! I thought that too! Stephen Mangan looks like a fantastic kisser.

I recently bought Free Agents just because he was in it (that and Sharon Horgan of course)

I shall report back in the next few days. Still waiting on the post. If its anywhere near as good as Pulling then I will be happy. Its meant to be very foul mouthed so...bonus!

Guy was a great character. I know that Mangan has played to type alot but he does it so well. I always end up rooting for the non-hero character anyway. I always want the girl to end up with the so-called "wrong one".

Yeah, let me know if it's any good, it certainly sounds promising!

Completely agree! I always go for the under dog too. I don't know why but I usually find the one we're 'supposed' to like is really smug.  Plus I tend to really like the arrogant bastards....

I was/am the same with Spike in Buffy. I HATED Angel. Sooooo dull.

But Spike was just so cool and spunky and wee. I love him.

This is where we have our first disagreement....  I really, really loved Angel but I grew to adore Spike too so I was always a bit torn as to who I wanted Buffy to be with.  I think it's the first and only time I haven't been 100% positive who I wanted the hero/heroine to get with. I do think Spike was the better character though so I'm not sure why I was so torn.

Though it could just be because I am more fond of the earlier episodes.  I preferred Xander with Cordelia and Willow with Oz, though oddly I think the latter series have stronger episodes. (Though any episode involving Riley and/or Dawn immediately loses points! )

Oh we arent that different. I didnt really want Spike to be with Buffy but I definitely found his role with her far more interesting. I thought he was a cracking character (number 1 screen vampire according to SFX ) and just so layered.

I cant bring myself to like Angel (in any incarnation) though. Just dont have it in me.

Alternatively, I came to Buffy in series 4 so that maybe influences my perpective a bit. I was used to no Cordy or Angel very early on.

SFX has great taste.  I loved how his character was developed and I especially loved the flashbacks from when he was human.

That's fair enough, I couldn't be bothered to watch his spin off.

That's a good point!

Apparently Reece and Steve are going to be 'breakfast' on BBC tomorrow morning. Since I have no intention of getting up that early, I'm sky + ing it!
