I think he's excellent also - watched him in Shame & Haywire this week and he's magnetic in both even if he only has a small role in Haywire. He's incredible in Hunger, Fish Tank & Inglourious Basterds. I really disliked X-Men: First Class but thought he was the best thing in it. He's certainly a busy lad!

The great thing about Michael Fassbender is that even if the film is bad, he's always good. Such a versatile actor, and he seems to be a genuinely nice chap.

 I have nothing against the guy but he just seems to be EVERYWHERE now.In films, in the news.Its like hes the new Jude Law (when Jude was making at least 100 films a year or so).

He is a good actor though.

 recently saw a dangerous method very good film and michael was great as always.

also finally got round to buying eden lake another very good film, very believable too with kids nowadays.

 Fassbender was definitely my biggest discovery of last year. I saw him in X-Men First Class and was just completely blown away.

Months later now and I've seen Haywire (good, would love to see him and Ewan McGregor in another film), Centurian (I liked it, but think it may be something of a guilty pleasure), Jane Eyre (good acting, but I'm not a Bronte fan) and Shame (brilliant).

Such a good actor, he's got such an intense style and can do so many wildly different roles.

Saw Prometheus and it was good and he played the only character I actually cared about. Awesome actor who should be the next Bond. Definately going to meet him when he comes back home this Christmas. First time didnt count ha ha.

 He didn't really come to my attention until I saw him in Prometheus. I sure know who he is now, outstanding performance as David, really unforgettable.
I look forward to seeing more of him.

 Outstanding actor, get Hunger if you can bare to watch it as its not an easy film to watch. He's exceptional in it.

 There's been something going around Tumblr for a while now concerning women who've come forward with claims that he assaulted them when they were dating. I don't know much about it, only that there's more than one of these women but he hasn't been convicted of anything. One of my friends is very vocal about people being quick to forgive him because he's attractive and a good actor (and white, but that's something for a totally different thread), but how can you forgive him if he hasn't actually been convicted of doing anything wrong? My friend thinks that his films should be boycotted as a way of not supporting him (she says the same about Mel Gibson, Sean Connery and a few others, along with the music of Christ Brown) but I have mixed feelings about this. As I say, I don't know if there's any truth to the rumours- which I will consider rumours unless he actually gets a conviction- but I don't know if I would boycott his films. I don't really see many films simply because he's in them, anyway, but I know that I wouldn't have boycotted Prometheus. I hate to miss out on a film I really want to see because there's one person I dislike in it.

Wow. Anyway. I went off on a bit of a random rant there.

From what I've seen him in, I like Fassbender a lot. As has been said before, he was certainly the best thing about Prometheus (though I enjoyed the film as a whole) and he completely nailed his character. I liked him as young Magneto in X-Men: First Class, though his accent did get a bit dodgy at times, off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else I've seen him in, though I have got Shame on my rental list.

God he's intense, when he was "succumbing to addiction" in the shower at the start I was wincing *oof*

It's not his or McQueen's best, I thought Hunger was more thought provoking for instance, but it was still an interesting piece ().

He's the best actor right now in the world without a doubt.
He's got the looks and chops to be a A lister actor and also to go and make independent films and not look out of place.

Shame, Hunger, X Men first class, Fish tank and Promentheus are his greatest roles to date.
I agree on that even in bad films he's still the best thing about them.

I'm not afraid to throw out he's the new Robert de niro mixed with the coolness of a Steve Mcqueen (the actor).

 How does everyone feel about him being attached to the Assassin's Creed film?

I don't see a problem with him directing or producing, but if he's taking on a lead role it would have to be the modern-day guy (whose name escapes me) or there'll be shouts of "whitewashing" again like when Jake Gyllenhaal did Prince of Persia.
