I have mixed feelings about this film. The opening battle is without doubt one of the greatest movie scenes of all time. Just perfect in every way, shocking, thrilling, realistic etc.

But the rest of the film, for me anyway, just fails to live up to the sheer amazingness of the opening battle. For sure, the rest of the film is good - but thats just it. Its good. It ain't earth shatteringly breathtaking as the opening is. Its funny, because I sometimes think if the opening battle had for some reason been at the end, I don't think I would've had a problem with it. Because then on repeat viewings I would be looking forward to the amazing scene at the end, rather than thinking 'the opening was brilliant this isn't quite as good.' Of course I understand that the battle at the end wouldn't work at all for the story, it's just a funny thing I sometimes think. Does that make sense to anyone else??
