 I recently erased all music from my mp3 player (SONY, not apple. It's important that people are aware of this.) and have now synched only classic ROCK. Included are songs from films such as COBRA, RAPID FIRE, SPEED, TRANSFORMERS: ANIMATED MOVIE, POINT BREAK, T2 and of course the ROCKY films.  Listening to "Burning Heart", "Eye of the Tiger" and "Hearts on Fire" when I'm at the gym... I AM F**KING INVINCIBLE.

 'Hearts on Fire' by John Cafferty and the synth piece 'Up the Mountain' by Vince DiCola are just EPIC. It has been scientifically proven that these tracks instantly make me stringer and faster everytime I hear 'em.

It's on the telly at the moment and a thought just occured to me, since the fight is set on December 25th, this actually makes Rocky 4 a Christmas movie. The most blood-pumping, testosterone-filled Christmas film ever. FACT.

 I'm watching this too. The final fight montage is fucking awesome! The immensely brilliant score does a fantastic job at creating a rousing atmosphere, and I have to say, if boxers really did go for it like that in real life, I'd probably watch the sport a lot more. And possibly if they had a DiCola score over the top of it!

I challenge anyone to name a film which uses montages to better effect than Rocky IV. And if you do, I'm sending Rocky round to beat you to a bloody pulp. Superb. I'm not braving V though, ITV4 schedulers...

y'see, I'm tempted but the problem is - NO EXTRAS!!!!  I have BALBOA on blu-ray which is packed with cracking extras and I have the original R1 dvd release box set of I-V but again only the first film has extras - GGRRR!!!!!! So annoying! I KNOW there is a whole load of trailers, deleted scenes, docs and music videos out there somewhere (and supposedly, a legenday 'workprint' of ROCKY V with a lot more footage including the re-introduction of 'Little Marie' BEFORE she returned in BALBOA). Man, just the music videos for part IV alone would be AWESOME!

 I only have the R2 dvd boxset which only features extras on Balboa. And the quality on Rocky I is crap, at least the other films have the correct aspect and DTS surround etc. It was only £15 at the time though.

 had a quick check of movies I and II and the quality, while improved, is no great shakes. Not checked the others yet, but I got Balboa on Blu Ray already so know the quality of that bad boy. Hopefully III and IV are vastly improved in picture and sound quality and I can crank those beasts up to eleven!

But so what, I got The Rocky films on Blu Ray!

Agree with Snake though, there has certainly been a trick missed here in relation to the lack of any extras with parts II through V. There are various making ofs, interviews, music vids, trailers, etc that can be found on the web that should be included here. And as I have said many times before, Stallone doing a gab track on each of these flicks would be worth the cash on their own. And you're telling me that Nielson, Morrison, Mr T, Hogan, and the others wouldn't want to have their say? For good or bad? Come on!

Still, like I said, I got the Rockys on Blu Ray!! Woo hoo!!

 Aw man... how cool would a Sly and Dolph commentary on ROCKY IV be?! I mean if there was some crazy announcement that there was a special edition blu-ray in the works JUST for IV I'd scream like a little girl!
