what a climax, fuck I love this movie, its cheesy as fuck, its blatant American propaganda and its predictable as hell, buts its amazing, and the soundtrack is just sheer 80's gold

yup, or want to start punching someone during the fight montage

Its a pity Duke wasnt kept around longer than the opening scene in Rocky V, was there a reason for it? hes a great character, especally since they brought him back in Rocky Balboa, I love how he's trying to persuade Apollo to not fight Rocky in the second movie "He's all wrong for us, baby. I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before, and the man kept coming after you. Now we don't need no man like that in our lives"

I might watch Rocky 3 tomorrow, its a series where you dont exactly have to watch them in order, plus I've seen them hundreds of times at this stage pretty much know them word for word.

 Hey guys just to let you know iv'e made my own version of Heart on Fire and posted it on youtube. Basically iv'e done my best to blend the original track and the Vince Di Cola theme together as it happens in the film but for some reason isn't commercially available. The tricky part was editing the transition to keep the song flowing. Check it out and leave a comment if you can.

Good Work Spaldron! I take it you also have the recently released AWESOME DiCola score? THAT track - "Up the Mountain" - brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear it...

 On the Vince DiCola track "Up the Mountain" - at the 01:06 mark - we hear the familiar 'Gonna Fly Now' beat. My (snake) eyes well up everytime.

 I believe, though I'm not 100%, that Sly wanted to go a bit of a different route and bring in that "rock" aspect alongside Conti's classic anthem and I think Conti didn't want to be one of 2 composers on the same film...

I see. As well as the Rocky films, Conti also scored F.I.S.T., PARADISE ALLEY, VICTORY and LOCK UP.

 This being my favourite of the ROCKY movies, I've searched high and low for some sort of vintage 'behind-the-scenes' video / footage but no joy so far. I wish the powers that be would just stop pi$$ing around and release all the 'making of' stuff in some sort of special edition blu-ray set.

 I've been watching the whole ROCKY saga recently. That's right, all of them, from start to finish, for the FIRST TIME.

The first might have all the accolades, but ROCKY IV.... Man! Just sheer entertainment, no matter how you look at it. You watch the movies back-to-back, and you get into the heart and mind of a character like Rocky. You genuinely root for him. Every movement, every montage, every fight scene, every time he yells out for Adrian. But, when Apollo Creed goes down, permanently, in the fight with Drago, you want Rocky to get right in that ring and FUCK HIM UP!

After that, you want that big bad Russian to get his shit ripped up. The montages are brilliant - Hearts on Fire is probably the most poignant tune in the franchise so far (I'm currently watching ROCKY V, so will wait and see about the rest).

So yeah, thus far, Rocky IV is probably my favourite. Sure, the first one has all the acting/directing chops, but the fourth is just pure fucking entertainment. Jingoism? Bollocks. You can take the same David vs. Goliath angle and apply it to anything. It just so happened to be Rocky vs. Russia.

Rocky IV is Lleyton Hewitt's favorite movie.

On court, he has been heard to scream:" CMON ROCK!"

The training in the snow montage is one of the greatest of all time.....just better than the Rocky/Clubber Lang training montage in Rocky III.
