There's a new teaser site up for Assassin's Creed 2

If you've got a webcam, try this - it may well be one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Once the Da Vinci bit's finished, click on the symbol in the middle of the screen and printout the PDF that is displayed.
Then, back on the page with the symbol, click on the Animus symbol thing on the far left.
It brings up a page with a flash window in the centre that will ask you for permission to access your webcam.
Allow access.
Now hold the printout up infront of the webcam. Once it's validated it (you'll see what I mean), keep holding the printout in front of the camera and move it around, back and forth and so on - awesomeness will ensue!

Only works for the top one at the minute. Hopefully the others will be unlocked soon!

Yea, I don't have a webcam, but I'm intruiged... do tell...

With regards the teaser... it's gash. Fuck all of interest in it. Yes I understand it's a 'teaser' but games teasers need to show a bit more than that! The recent Uncharted 2 teaser was ok, showed us something at least, but this and the recent Modern Warfare 2 teaser are just arse.

Still, I'm looking foward to AC2. I do like the first one, but it was so so repetitive I rarely played it for more than an hour, hour and half max at anyone time. I hope they give us something a bit more to do in part 2. In fact, I realise now that I've never actually finished the first one. Might have to look at doing that.

I liked it. The Da Vinci style drawings, including the hidden blade and is that a set of wings I see?
Does that mean it's also going to be set in 16th century Italy and not Peru as previously suspected?

Mixing up Assassin's Creed with the slight Thief aesthetic would be a double dose of awesomeness.

I had no time for the binary abortion that was Assassins Creed but I do like Ubisoft, they usually take criticism on board and tweak sequals nicely. Thief was a great set of games and they could certainly do with adding a bit of that goodness.

Once verified, it comes up with a polygon model of Altiers hand, whihc then gets mapped with some pretty high res textures.

As you move the print out around onscreen, the arm moves according to how your holding it.

Pretty cool indeed......

Sounds interesting, but I don't have a cam.

Apparently the trailer should be shown next week. I've still haven't got round to playing Assassins Creed 1 yet.

The first game got alot of flack but I still though the whole jumping around rooftops, stabbing people with the wrist knifey thingy and pushing people off tops of cathedrals was pretty fun. If only they realised that the worst thing about the game was infact the assassinations themselves. The next one will have more sneaking I hope.

Still it had Kirsten Bell

I agree with this guy. The whole running up and over buildings in a free roam aspect was amazing and the graphics was pretty cool to.

The only main problem with the gameplay was the inflexabilty of the gameplay on the assassinations. ie. get information from sources in a city and kill the target, the only problem is that it was exactly the same as in every city. Oh and the enemy AI attacking one at a time is another down point to the game.

All in all i'm looking foward to how they fix these issues in the next game!!!

I enjoyed the first game, enough to play it twice actually (either that or I was just bored and would've played anything)...

But I seriously hope they take a look at Hitman/MGS when it comes to kills and sneaking, 'cause that stuff at times flat out sucked. Same goes for sitting on a bench, before you sit on some more benches. Either that ot throw in some epic boss fights. Those lengthy restrictive assasinations just don't cut it.

Jumping from pole to pole unseen, before climbing a tower and lookig at the harbour from up above, was sweet though.

It just had some whopping design flaws, for a game that was free roaming you were actually ushered down linear paths with iron rods towards the crux of the game; the assassinations. They were the most boring part of the game and should have been the most fun, the clues in the title. Plus the lack of a skip function in the convoluted and boring cut scenes, it made the game a punishment to play. Shame as it looked very, very nice and does have some scope as a good franchise.

Yeah haveing a fucntion to skip the cut scenes would be a great advatage, i would also like to see the fighting aspect improved on as well. ie being able to do multiple enemies instead of one at a time

Holy crap, I just saw this video and now I have a new most wanted game. I really hope it's reaches its full potential unlike the first one. It looks very promising. YouTube comments, I know, but a few people were saying release in November underneath.

He definitely can swim - they've confirmed that.

I think it looks pretty much exactly the same. A few new tricks but nothing much else looks different and the flying looks a bit shit.
I enjoyed the first one but it got old very quickly and the way the enemies stand back while you fight one person is stupid and that doesn't seem to have changed from what I've seen of the new one. Still there's plenty of time before release so I'll wait and see before I decide whether it's a purchaser or a renter.

i loved the combat...absolutely loved it, i hope they don't change it too much!
