The bit where Jetfire says to Optimus "OPTIMUS, TAKE MY PARTS AND YOOU SHALL KNOW TRUEE POWAA!" was fokken fantastic, made me geek out hardcore.

Bay needs to sort it out. TF2 looked better than the 1st but was far far worse. One tip I could give would be to give me MORE IRONHIDE!!

Was soooo looking forward to the second installment only to find Bay went all Episode 1 on us introducing annoying made up characeters for comedic purposes. The military porn was unnecessary as well, lets see some more Autobots fighting Decepticons and less Josh Duhamel and the magical battleship gun that can blow up anything within a range of 5000 miles with exact precision.

I'd say drop the existing human characters altogether and start again with a new bunch - or at least sack off The Beef, his parents, room mate (man he was an annoying cock) and his whorish ladyfriend.

I think having the Autobots working with Nest was a fine idea and think that should really be the focus, not the comedy stylings of Shia and his posse.

remember in the first film when the Autobots first landed and scanned various vehicles to assume their disguises? Snake-Eyes' idea for the third is simple - have a certain Autobot land somewhere there just happens to be an outside screening of Steven Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK, he scans a certain image he sees and voila - instant show-stealing bad-ass....

Snake you're fucking genius - that's been the consistent problem with dinobots featuring: "Why would they choose dinosaurs?". Even in the two previous films that would be a big logic leap but I think you just nailed it, excellent work.

Have it so they arrive from space with a reputation as total bad-ass super warriors (The Dynobots origin). They don't automatically swear allegiance to the Autobots, this is a must. They've always been a bit seperatist. They refuse Earth Forms "Me, Grimlock, no like to Hide!", perhaps they look down on earth as being a weak planet, that's never produced any good warriors. Then Sam or someone shows them the monsters that walked the planet 65 Million Years Ago. Blammo - Dinobots.

In an interview with BOL a Brazilian entertainment website - no link - Patrick Dempsey states his character in TF3 will be "much darker" than he usually plays .

I guess he means a villainous character because the humans in this franchise so far are shallow window dressing; "dark" probably won't equate to "psychological depth". Then again the series is all about giant robots smashing the shit out of each other so the human characters can all go to hell anyway.

I do not think production team had learnt their lesson from the previous film. The biggest problem in my opinion was the script, there wasn't enough time spent on it and they are just repeating the same mistake. Who here want to pay �7 to go through that again but with slightly different fights?

Well Bay has recently confirmed that those fucking twins won't be back in the next film so that's hopefully some indication that someone's listened to the laundry list of complaints and criticisms about ROTF.

I agree with the script issue but frankly I don't think it matters what you hand Bay; the next could be written by Mamet with a clever plot, interesting characters and psychological depth but it will still turn out the same as the first two. Why? Because Michael Bay's directing it and at the end of the day he's a technical director so his real interest is in 'splosions and cool effects; anything else he just fluffs because either he doesn't get it or just isn't interested.

His films are stylish but have nothing to them other than broadly offensive humour and cheese; usually that can get papered over by having some good leads (Cage, Connery, Harris, Smith, Willis, McGregor, Johansson) that are likeable enough to distract you from the inanity of the film. However with Transformers he's buggered because the real stars are the robots - I like Shia but he like the rest of the humans are fodder or plot devices.

Case in point is Pearl Harbour - that shattered any cred Bay might have had as an actual filmmaker because his three leads were incredibly tepid (if Ben Affleck is headlining and it's not a Kevin Smith film then it's doomed) so the audience finally saw how shallow his films are. Granted it offered a huge amount of bang but as usual with a Bay film that's all it had and I think at last people realised that all he's got to offer is big bangs and slow motion shots of helicopters against a sunset. Plus having seen how other, better filmmakers have depicted serious events like the attack and WWII's major campaigns in general Bay's fluffy romcom level attempts at character showed how he's just a kid with a big toybox.

TF3 will just be more of the same - like George Lucas he's marginalised/killed off characters that just pissed people off (Jar Jar = Twins) but won't have actually learned anything because he's a man child that's good at orchestrating screen chaos; don't expect anything else from him.

The problem with TF2 was that absolutely everything that people enjoyed in the first was ramped up to the point where it was no longer enjoyable. It's like Bay said "so what did people like? The parents being funny? More of that then. Shia being neurotic? More of that then. Vulgar humour? More of that then. Robots fighting? More of that then" and so on and so forth, to the point where the sequel was almost unrecognizable from the first.

The first was pitch perfect, most likely due to Spielberg being more involved than he was on the second.

It'll be interesting to see where Bay takes it, whether he learns from his mistakes or not.

The first film was broken down into three parts.

Part 1. Introducing the characters and Deceptacons
Part 2. Introducing the Autobots
Part 3. Final Fights

They also thrown everything into it, comedy, triller etc but it worked. Revenge of the Fallen had no good ideas and it felt like a shit version of Empire Strike back. Our heros are being chased by the enemies and isolated from the rest of the good guys. They put so much into the film but nearly all the ideas had no conclusion to it,

It's been announced - no link - that T3 will be filming at The Kennedy Space Centre in September . Bay has filmed there before of course for 'Armaggedon' .

I would've thought about her lips, I'm sure she had them injected with botox (unlike her performance).

I really hope Michael Nay [sic] cuts out the crass jokes and gives us a more character driven piece. I thought the first film struck the right balance but the second film lost its way and the endless sex gags started to grate after a while. Not to mention he couldn't help himself with the camera when it came to the 'pan and scan' shot of Megan Fox.

Also in the interview he states that mistakes were made with ROTF and that they went "bigger" but "lost the anchor of the movie" .
They intend to put things right this time it seems .

It�s Michael Bay at the end of the day. ROTF was truly a turd, I mean a real turd, even by his distinctly sub par standards. It really doesn�t say much about a directors abilities when Transformers is widely regarded as your best work (I�m a Rock man myself

). But the crux of the matter is that there is only so good these movies can ever be in that mans hands. Granted, the first one was good fun and did get the balance and tone right but that�s it. Bay is a man that will always try to top himself from a technical standpoint, so it�s the action that will get ramped up, ultimately leaving the third as soulless and un enjoyable as ROTF. When recently questioned about 3D for his particular brand of cinematic carnage or �Bayhem� (a word that he no doubt coined himself) he was quoted as saying, �say what you will about my movies but at least they are technically correct.� Read as, at least they look good. That doesn�t instil faith for anyone looking for any form of character development. He should also refrain from using native IMAX cameras this time. Props to him indeed for trying to follow the stunning groundwork laid down by Nolan (why no one else is is quite beyond me

) but he doesn�t seem to understand them. True IMAX is about soaking up intricate detail in the shot and you can�t do that when you�re humping the frame at the speed of light.
