It's a crazy old world we live in when the highest grossing film of all time (frak inflation excuses), and the winner of 11 Oscars with 14 Nomations, is called a failure.

Do you genuinely think that box office is a measure of a film's quality?

P.S. Torque for the win!

The thread's about "blockbusters" and "failures", not  "blockbusters" and "quality" - although Titanic is quality in my book.

I'm just sick to death of people calling this one film the worst film of all time or a complete failure, etc. etc. when it CLEARLY is not. It's like hearing people rant about Citizen Kane being the first colour talkie.

'The power of seven become a league of one' - But also unfortunately a movie nobody wanted to see. I'm a big LXG fan. This is mostly due to the gorgeous Carol Spier production design, but it's a lot of fun with some crazy action sequences and FX and fun performances all round.

'Adventure Lives Forever' - Well that's a relief, i was worried it was only temporary. Despite many, many, many flaws Van Helsing is also a favourite of mine. Again i love the production design (this could be a running theme in all of my favourite failed blockbusters) and FX (cheesy CGI abound). This movie is just basically crazy and manic and barely takes a breather.

'The legend, the battle, the first hero' - well that sounds lame, but i really love the movie. It's a great adventure and has some incredible FX and scale, particularly the last half hour. It coulda done with a bit more action throughout but what the hey, still love it.

If you're still reading by this point, frankly WOW! I know i'm treading on thin ice but i am really fond of Stealth. It has incredible action scenes and is full of 100% fresh fromage. It also has one of the best explosions EVER.

My new favourite person

I love these films!

I'm shocked that nobody has mentioned this:

I seem to recall this not exactly setting the box office alight (which, of course, is a damn shame!)

I like this thread because so far I love every film mentioned. Even Titanic which shouldn't really be here...

Yeah. I love Bad Boys II and will defend it until the day I die. It didn't do too bad at the Box Office but didn't do great for a Will Smith/Michael Bay Film and for some strange reason people don't like it. And I have no idea why...

Tech the 'famous' car chase (by that i assume you mean the best out of the 3 car chases) begins about 30 mins in to the movie! You've obviously already seen it and weren't impressed!

Don't forget the boat!

I actually prefer BB2 over BB.  It's the personality-swap storyline and Tea Leoni that irritate me in the first one.

BB2 is like Lethal Weapon 3, only with Will Smith.

Also, the last fifteen minutes.... fuuuuuuuuuck!

Yep that's the one. Cars getting tossed off the back of a vehicl carrier on a freeway and willie and Lawrence have to dodge em. That starts about 30 mins in.

Later on there's one with dead bodies falling off the back of hearse type van and then later there's is one where they plough through a shanty town but the one you mention is the first car chase in the movie.

EDIT: Scott beat me to it
