ORIGINAL: optimus OK, I'm now offically confused about this release. However, now I'm seeing reports - http://www.cinematical.com/2009/06/03/watchmen-blu-ray-bulked-up-in-uk/ - that Paramount will be releasing their own version of the DVD/BD in the UK with the extra 24 mins and additonal features. So when is the Paramount version coming out, what extras does that have and will it have the 'Maximum Movie Mode' that the US Warners BD has (as I'm quite interested in that feature)? Can anyone clarify this? While thats an interesting move (and a first as far as i can tell, for two studios to put out the same film) surely its just a massive disaster waiting to happen? And do Paramount honestly believe that financially this is a good idea? Also, it annoys me that there is a wealth of great films out there without a single release, yet two seperate studios will finance and put out two seperate releases of this film, seemingly in an attempt to claw back whatever they can from its box office failure. Rant over. The real worrying issue here comes in the form of a quote from Snyder, promising that this will be "considerably more violent ... and sexier". The film was already violent enough, but thats not my point; based on what Zack Snyder thinks is sexy, judging from the original cut of the film and 300, i dread to think what this extended cut has in store...
