i hope his talks about taking a shit.

also, i hope the script includes the face that Pryor was a complete scumbag that was incredibely violent towards women

 Eddie Murphy as a stand up was a genius, and on form he can be a stunning actor, but surely this role is more suited to Chris Rock? I know his movie career has been a chequered one but maybe this could be the role that he's been waiting for...

Considering Eddie Murphy based his early career on being a younger imitation of Richard Pryor it probably is perfect casting. He's been auditioning for this role since he started out doing stand up. What next though? Dennis Leary playing Bill Hicks in a biopic?

Perfect role for Murphy IMO. Pryors life story will make some film. Dont know how many of you have seen interviews of him when he was alive and how he talked about being raised in whorehouse, his drug problems, violence towards women, racism issues with Hollywood producers. Keep an eye on this one.

Even back as a stand up and breaking into movies with Raw he was always compred to Richard Pryor so it's a natural choice to have Eddie as Pryor.
Eddie can be still good as Dreamgirls proved but he needs to get out of those awful comedies those numbnut morons like (Meet Dave, Norbit, Pluto Nash etc) and do more films like Dreamgirls. That do Shemale porn since their his bag.

 As a huge fan of Pryor's stand up work (Not so much his film work. Although Stir Crazy, Blue Collar and Which Way is Up? are all made of win) I'll be interested in seeing a film about his life. Eddie Murphy is possibly a bit to old to play him now, presuming that the film will focus on Pryor's younger years. The producers would be better off casting an unknown actor.

You remember incorrectly. They always got on very well at least for the most part. Eddie Murphy never got on with Bill Cosby (which maybe what your thinking about).

Pryors stand up material is hilarious, regardless of how much of a womaniser he was. I love his stand up. Regardless of the recent sheeyite Murphy has been in His stand up was amazing too, and there are a few funny films I really like him in, granted the most recent one was the Nutty Professor.

I liked Murphys turn in Dreamgirls and given hes involved with the same people i think this one will and should produce a long awaited great performance from Murphy.

With the source material and team behind it I will look forward to plenty laughs and a little heartbreak. More of the former though, please!

Well, Norbit may not be up there with Murphys other work - such as Trading Places, Coming to America or Beverly Hills... but yes, it's not completely bad.

Richard Pryor was a genius. I can't think of anyone else other than Eddie Murphy to play him. I cant wait to see this.

 First off if this movie comes out then can you really imagine anyone else playing him but Murphy. That isnt what I want to say but thinking about it he would be a better richard pryor than russell crowe would be bill hicks!! That being said it would be a wholly better idea if eddie murphy just done another stand up tour, like robin williams, as delirious, not so much raw, is possibly the funniest thing ever committed to film. Anyways, as always ill wait until the movie is finished and then released till I pass Judgement. Gooney googoo!!

Pryors autobiography was bluntly honest. i hope the film don't make him a saint, cos the man himself would be laughing his ass off. Pryor was infact good friends with Cosby when he was startin out, and the only kinda bad reference he made about murphy, was that he said his comedy should be a bit nicer. at that time comedy was changing and was starting to be more abrupt, maybe a bit of jealousy on pryors part? any way pryor is a legond, and ther is no other man on earth that can pull of the job than murphy. he is also a comedy god and can do the serious parts as his great acting in dream girls shows.[even though that film was shite] will defo go to the movies to watch this one and ill give my local little chineese bootlegger the elbow. anyone who aint read the autobiography should definatly do so, by his own words he aint no saint, a great read. ill bet anyone £10 that murphy will at least get an oscar nomination for this. Good luck murphy and r.i.p pryor.
